"My mother is dealing with chronic pain and has fibromyalgia" (worrieddaughter09)

MDJunction to me

"I have been struggling with Fibromyalgia, Bipolar, Anxiety, Post traumatic Syndrome for quite some time and pretty much going it alone. I stumbled across MDJunction by accident. I stayed in the shadows and just watched for four days and then I joined, feeling relieved and excited to have found a safe place with alot of folks that I could relate to . It's proove to be medically and emotionally
helpful to me and now I can't go a day without coming in at least 4 or five times a day! I Love my family here.

I was just curious if anyone knew if fibromyalgia could cause swollen lymph nodes? I tned to get swollen lymph nodes that are painful in my armpit and I was wondering if anyone else feels this pain on top of all the other pain.

I wondered about that too. I get swollen lymph nodes that are painful in my armpits, neck, and groin. I didn't know if that's part of fibro or if it something else I have to worry about.

I've had swollen lymph nodes and I know someone else with fibro who had them. It happened to me before I was diagnosed. I got a swelling under my chin like I had the mumps. It was there for about a month.

I know it is not that uncommon-

Wow I used to get the knot in the armpit thing all the time. It must be a genetic thing. Both my mom and I have FMS, and both of ours came after injury/accidents. So maybe that's a link no one's looked at - interesting.

I get swollen lymph nodes in my armpits and it is really painful. I wasn't sure if it was a common part of fibro or something else I had to worry about. I am relieved to hear other people with fibro experience these symptoms!

Yes, me too. It must be connected. I just thought it was me. Interesting.

From what I was told, the swollen lymph nodes are connected, but you should ask you're doc of course. I was diagnosed at the cleveland clinic and a few of the docs I saw told me there was a link.

I have these right now. It's so painful and there are actually hard lumps in the lymph nodes. I'm so glad to know that this is connected to the fibro and that I'm not dying! Sorry you guys are going through this, I literally feel your pain right now.

Love forever,

I would still tell your doc about it. Better to be safe and get it checked out.

Hi soopergirl!

Usually from what I understand that swollen nodes can be due to other things like CFIDS! Swollen glands can be about other problems also. It'll be wise to get thoroughly checked out!
