Hi all!

Besides the horrific pain in my body, there are certain areas that feel like somebody is squeezing it. There is a ton of pressure also. It usually happens in my back. It is not there all of the time like the pain, but it happens quite often. Does anyone else experience this?

Terri

Terri,

It's Horrific some days, I get it in my back & all the way around my rib cage. I believe it is referred to as "banding" It's like an actual Bear give you a squeezing hug, not that I've ever been near a Bear.

It had me in tears again this morning.

In people with MS it's called the MS HUG, & the question is still out there on that one for me "limboland" Please feel better soon.

Yup; Thats when you get it really bad. I know when I first try to explain it to my PCP; that it felt like I was going to explode. Those are the times I have to sleep in the Mummy position; with my arms crossed over my chest. Thank God I don't get that way every day 1 That would have to be the end for me

I had that too. It was when I was really badly flareup. I too would compare to to someone hugging around your ribcage. Most of the time it would start on my right side- then by days end it was all around. My ribs would get sore- not in the middle of the breast bone like some people but around the bottom. Back in those days I couldn't sit up for long or stand because withing 15 minutes it was too painful.

hi guys, is this pain around the diaphram or somewhere else? My mom had pain that was similar to what you described and it turned out she had galstones. She got her galbladder out and hasn't had that pain any more. Just a thought!

It's actually different, the gallbladder pain is worse! A little similar. I did have my gallbladder out 2 yrs ago.

They took my gallbladder out to- thinking the pain was from gallbladder disease. The pain was still there after the surgery.

Probably was fibro related and I was mis-diagnosed because I didn't have gallstones.

kychick,

If you don't mind me jumping in, I had a hida scan. The doctor called me barely after I was home from the test. I had a stone blocking the common bile duct between gallbladder & liver, it was also very inflamed.

Hi guys!

The pain is located in my back and sometimes spreading to my ribs. So far, nothing in the diaphram. I feel like I can't breathe deep or sit for very long. The pain I have daily from fibro is bad enough but when that comes on it scares me even more. Thanks for all the suggestions, keep it coming.

Terri
