It's been too long since I've been on, and I really need to unloadBlink Today is especially badSad first, my uncle was in a fatal car accident. They think he blacked out and hit a family of four. My uncle and the father in the other car died at the scene. I'm just in shock! My uncle has had his share of health problems problems, but he was in his early 50's, so unexpected and then to have another family affected is just so tragic.

On a health note, the last few months have gone from bad to worse. My fibro is somewhat controlled with meds, but now I've got these other crazy symptoms on top of it all. It started last summer with irregular periods and then they completely stopped in April. Then came terrible nausea, constipation, extreme fatigue and absolutely no sex drive. Sorry TMITongue I've been working with my obgyn and after a full dose of progesteren and no period in sight they have me scheduled for an MRI in August. They think I have pituitary tumors. For those that don't know, they usually are not malignant and just need surgery, radiation, and medicine. My Mom had one on her thyroid, so I'm somewhat familiar, but I'm stuck feeling like crap because I've missed so much work I can't take off until my scheduled vacation on August 7th. I'm hoping I can hold on... It feels like the walls are closing in on me lately. I really need relief, and then we have this family tragedy.

I must remain strong and optimistic. I have a beautiful family who loves me and we will get through this. Thanks for letting me vent.....Jen

My condolences on your loss! So tragic!

I hope your doctors can quickly find and correct the cause of your other problems. Fibro is bad enough on it's own, but combined with other health issues is just too much!

hello 1331, why does it take so long to get an MRI? I usually have gotten in the same week. Oh well.

It's going to be tough, I guess just try not to think about how long you have to go, and do it one day at a time as they say. Can anyone have chores/cooking delegated to them, to give you more down time? Wishful thinking?

Sorry times are so rough, and so sorry about your uncle. I hope you can find moments to go to a quiet spot and take peaceful moments and deep breaths, to dissolve some stress.

Jen,

So sorry to hear about your uncle. It is really difficult to lose a family member, but even harder when it is unexpected. My prayers are with you and your family.

I hope that they can figure out what is going on with you. Hopefully it is nothing serious and they can take care of it easily. You may want to find out if you qualify for FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) This is unpaid time off, that you can take but you cannot lose your job because of it. I know you have to have worked there for at least a year, and there has to be (I believe) at least 50 employees in a 100mile radius. Check it out to make sure I am correct. I know it's unpaid time, but at least your job would not be in jeopardy. HUGS

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

I too am feel so sorry for the losses felt by your family And the other family... Very difficult to lose people we love, especially without warning or goodbyes... I also hope you can get the medical issues under control.

Mabri brought up a great point to consider- FMLA- I used it on more than one occasion- you may contact your human resource department- think eps (employee protection services- or something like that) is who would work with you. Totally confidential- employer cant know unless u tell them- hippa laws! I wish you the best! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Kahlil Gibran

So sorry to hear about all of this. My prayers are with all of the families affected. Hope they get the other stuff figured out. Even benign things are scary and stressful.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers...I am focusing on my family and trying not to think about how sick I feel. I wish I could get my MRI over with, but I have taken off so much work this year that I couldn't ask off and they don't do MRIs on weekendsWink I have checked in and I would be coverd under FMLA if i do need surgery and even if I don't, I'm going to talk to my dr, about a leave of absence until they get everything under control with medication and/or radiation. But I'm getting ahead of myself...they are just assuming I have a tumor, could be something else entirely!! Anyway, thanks again and I hope everyone is doing well tonightSmile
