I don't know when this disease started for me. I was 47 when I was diagnosed with fibro. I was 24 or 25 when I was diagnosed with CFS and IBS. I was 13 when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease. They say it usually starts at a trigger point. A trauma, mental, emotional, or physical. Car wrecks are a big one, surgery, a death of a loved one.

I wasn't even born yet, when I was in my first car wreck. I came out butt first with my hips locked into the fetal position from being jammed, breech birth, down into my mother's pelvis during the wreck. I was 6 months old before they ever got me to lay flat for the first time. My parents were told I'd never walk.

I was 2 days before my first birthday, when I was in another car wreck. My grandmother and her two daughters, my aunts, had gone to church and she wanted to show the baby off. Back then, there wasn't car seats. Drunk driver hit her head-on. I flew up into the front windshield and then back into the back seat. I was unconscious for well over an hour. When my parents arrived at the small rural hospital where they took us, they said I was laying on a gurney in the hallway, unconsciious, with no one around. They stopped a nurse and asked why wasn't someone attending to me? The nurse responded "she looked like she was going to die anyway." My parents picked me up and took me over 60 miles to another hospital, I woke up somewhere along the way. The doctors told my parents that my right arm was broken at the shoulder joint, and that not enough blood would've gotten past the swelling to keep my hand alive, and they would have to amputate. Well, they didn't amputate and I have my arm. Mom says the prettiest sight she ever saw was me coming out of surgery with a cast on the arm.

I was 5 when I had my next surgery. Only 13 for the next one. Another at 17, another at 19, an emergency C-section at 20... and the list goes on. I've been under general anesthesia at least 12 times in my life. I've been under "twilight sleep" when other procedures were done at least 3 more times.

So, when did my Fibro start? I have no idea. I remember always being tired when I was a kid. I remember mom saying "you always were a sickly kid." We know, here on the forums, of kids as young as what? 12? that have Fibro. Could it possibly be that I've LITERALLY had it my entire life? I don't know what "normal" is for me.

I don't know. I don't know what my spark is, I'm not sure I have one. I do get passionate about some things, like my spinning. I used to be able to do a lot more than I currently do. I used to be able to run a chainsaw all day. I used to haul hundred pounds bales of hay in the summer heat. Can't do either anymore. But is it because of Fibro? Or just because I'm getting so much older? I'm pushing 50.

Yes, I'd love to be able to do more than I currently am able to do. I've lost almost 30 pounds from my heaviest weight of 298 last fall. That helps me feel better. But I just have no stamina for anything anymore.

And I don't make my bed either, lol. I should, but I don't. I can shut the door and not see it!

well Adweyn is superwomen,Richard simmons,(my personal jimminy cricket( on my shoulder) adn our cheer leader for a reason... I am lucky enough to remeber Adweyns struggle and the day she decided "NO MORE" and I have watched her go from bed to zumba instructor, have been there when she was stuck in bed and been there when was in the hospital trying to find out why she was having problems with her left side not working.. so I know her struggles well..and am so proud of her...

we have to decide no more and I myself have got to the point of this is my life...we cant become our illness..

we all have alot to give if one gets the help then some of this suffering is worth it..

remeber I am not a doctor I just say what I think

Ooohhh I love fresh strawberries! We used to go pick our own in Arkansas and it was funny. The lady at the farm where we picked would joke about having to weight my daughter's in and out weight and charge us for the strawberries, she ate so many (she was about 2 or 3 at the time)! Smile
