Ok not the most pleasant subject but I was diagnosed with IBS about 12 year ago. I have the problem of NOT going. I think this is why my stomach often bothers me.

I remember about 4 years ago they had commericals on some new drug- can't remember the name- anyway I can't take it because I had my gallbladder out.

I have tried EVERYTHING or at least it seems like everything. Doesn't matter how much fiber I eat or water I drink I have more days than not where I just can't go

Anyone else like this? I only breakdown and take a laxative if it is passed 3 days or more but then I CAN'T stop going..(Gosh I feel like an old person talking about this!!!!

Ok any ideas????????????

I too was dx with IBS...and told to take colace, what a joke. I started colonics. It's hydro therapy for the colon. They say the constipation could be from a full and toxic colon. Some of us can have 5 to 20 pounds of unreleased fecal matter in our colon. Stuck to the walls and leaving very little room for the colon to work properly. The toxins build up in our colon and the body cells cannot drain their toxins. Supposedly, when you clear the colon of the toxins and fecal matter as well as yeast (Candida) the other cells can drain their toxins, thus allowing our entire body to be cleansed. Exema, dandruff, premature aging, paleness, puffiness could be these toxins and overgrowth of yeast in the body. I also started taking a yeast and fungal killer. I have had 2 colonics so far, today will be my 3rd in a row. I am going 2 or 3 times next week and every week after until things start moving along.

After my 2nd colonic yesterday, I noticed the paleness in my face was gone! The puffiness in my shoulders and chest was diminished and I had a bowel movemnt last night without an aid. I have lost alot of bloat in my midsection and almost feel lighter.

It is said that 80% of all illness is connected to the colon.

I will keep you infromed on how this al goes.

Take care

the Colonix (cleanse) not sure what's all involved, I think it is a shake mix as well as herbs..? The COLONIC is done with water in a holistic colonic certified person.

Google colonix for the product info, not sure if we can advertise for something here. I haven't ordered it yet, but am doing so today. Just read good things about it...

I really believe that at least for me poor gut health has impacted the fibro. My doctor believes in the whole yeast thing too so I do take nystatin and I am also on probiotics. They help to a degree but I've had problems for 20 years- God knows what is in there.

What do those sessions cost if you don't mind me asking???

The colonics are 65 a visit. If I were you, I'd look into it with your yeast already being recognized. The yeast can cake to the walls layer upon layer and leave no opening. If your (please pardon my frankness) poop is balls or small in diameter, this may be causing alot of the problems with your IBS. It should be large in width, mine has been the width of a nichol, that will tell you how much room it has to pass through.

I just went through a 2 week stint of no bowel movement and years and years of constipation. Gas has felt as bad as child labor. So, I didn't think I had anything to lose, (except the obvious!)

I don't know how true this is, but the woman that does mine said that the appendix played some part in helping to clean out the colon. All these years they have said that there was no use for your appendix after early childhood, but they just recently (10/07) discovered that it houses the GOOD bacteria for the colon.....who knows. I'll get back with you on it.

Thanks for letting me know. I had my gallbladder out 3 years ago. I still have digestive problems. Not to be too graffic but the width isn't that small most of the time. It is just not going regularly. I think the nystatin and probiotics help. I've been taking them for over a year now.

I'm not sure if I have IBS because I'm a little embarrased to discuss this in front of my dr. but every morning I wake up I'm constipated and once I'm past that it's diarreah all day long. I have been doing alot of reading on fibro since I was just diagnosed. before I thought it was just the way my body was and just had to accept it.

You should tell your doctor. Sounds like IBS and lots of us with fibro have it. They'll probably run some tests but if they are negative for anything else they consider it IBS. Some people with fibro have food sensitivities and that can cause problems as well. -dairy, yeast etc.
