I have been short of breath for 14 yrs. Just walking across the room causes this and my pulse races. Over the yrs I have seen many drs, with no answer. The lastest is a highly recommended pulmonary dr. Since tests don't show any probs, he feels this is a result of the fibromyalgia. He says he has other patients that he links the sob symptoms to their fibromyalgia. Hot weather and very cold weather make it worse. I would like to lose 20 lbs that I have gained since having breast cancer 14 yrs ago( I think due to having no hormones left after chemo)., but I don't think thats the prob. since I was sob for at least 2 yrs before the cancer. I think this breathing prob accounts for at least some of the reason I tire so easily. Does anyone else have this breathing problem? I was very disappointed when he told me his diagnosis, because I expected some other prob to account for my symptoms. I really would appreciate hearing from any of you. I really wonder if this is the answer. ?

I have the exact same problem. I have to believe it's related to Fibromyalgia in some way. I've had this problem as young as I can remember, yet I was able to run marathon challenges without any problems.

Seems for me the biggest problem is that I always feel like I have the flu, no energy, no drive, and just this uncomfortable feeling all over my body like a terrible ache. And if I walk across the room I can get very winded.

So I think that your breathing problem could very much be related as well as probably Asthma.

Thanks for responding. Tests show I don't have asthma. I would never be able to run a marathon. I lost my walking partner because of my breathing, (made her nervous)lol. I don't drive so walk all over town,I actually had one obnoxious Dr say I know whats wrong with you but you won't want to hear it. He then proceeded to tell me I was "out of shape '. When my adult kids asked me if I told he I walked a lot, I told them it wasn't worth it, his mind was made up. At least I didn't cry untill I got to the car. I'm really discouraged since this last Dr. because I didn't think it was the Fibro. He explained that Fibro is weakness so why not the diaphragm and lungs being weak. Family Dr said we could have my heart checked out, that just because some heart tests didn't show anything it doesn't mean there not a prob.(that hasn't showed to date). I go thru this every every few yrs, go for testing, get no answers and give up. I'm at that point again.
