"I have fibromyalgia and I have friends who have Lupus." (Mickey5567)

MDJunction to me

liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

Speaking of meditation... had anyone heard of Jon Kabat-Zinn? My therapist suggested him for meditation purposes - would love to see someone try to shut my brain up... haven't bought his program cd's- but evidently he is kind of a "user friendly" meditation concept dude! Anyone?????
Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain. Kahlil Gibran

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” Leo F. Buscaglia

"Always fall in with what you're asked to accept. Take what is given, and make it over your way. My aim in life has always been to hold my own with whatever's going. Not against: with."
Robert Frost

Hun, I honestly think the first thing you need to do is not blame yourself for not being able to do all of the things for your family that you used to be able to do. There are times when fibro seems like it takes over your life, and this is always hard. I do what I can for my family. I understand how much it can effect you, honestly I do. I fight depression all of the time, so I am not saying this lightly. Acceptance of your new abilities is part of the key to living with fibro. Learn and focus on new and different things you can do either with or for your family. Yes, you are lucky to have such great and understanding people surrounding you because many of us do not, however, sometimes you just need someone to talk to or just to bent to that has really been there and understands without having to play 20 questions. I am here if you need to chat. Wink
My statements here are solely from my own experiences. I am not a doctor, nor an expert in any way shape or form. Stay safe, positive and strong!Remember two things, you have your illness, it does not have you, and we are stronger together!
