I miss music. I have Meneire's disease and nerve damage in my ears and there are certain frequencies that are like a knife in my head and music (all music) has that effect on me. Even the music in the back ground on TV. I often have to use closed captioning and read the tv rather then listen. I do remember how soothing music can be. It has been 12 years since I injured the nerves in my ears. I can't stand movie theaters either.

I often read and that helps a lot unless I have a bad headache or migraine.

Favorite Poem :
It is such a relief when you first find out.
That the pain really does have a name,
And then you will ask (and everyone does),
"Just where can i place all the blame".
No matter the limits, no matter the pain,
There's no evil, cruel "Master Plan".
It just simply happens, It just simply is.
You adapt, and you change what you can.
But even with the knowing the best and the worst,
All the pitfalls the future could hold,
You still have a choice, you quit or you fight.
You determine the story that's told.
And every small step that we take, my dear friends,
Each battle that we slowly win,
Just credits the love and the caring we share
With the FMily that we call our friends.

Yeah, its a great release. It calms me down so much. Or in school, when I'm not having a good day or something, I will put my ear phones in and turn in up way loud when I walk down the hall way, so I can't hear anyone or anything.. and its like I'm not really there. I don't know how to explain it.. I just love that feeling.

Just tuning everything out till I disappear.

When I need music to calm me down, I listen to Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, or Tegan and Sara.

Usually.

They seem to work the most.

IKP- sorry, I just saw your comment.

But woooww! I don't know how you do it. I would die without music. Really. I love music sooo much. How do you do it?

I am so sorry. :/

One day at a time like everything else. When something you love causes you massive pain it is much easier to give up. I have learned to replace it with other things like relaxation techniques, meditation, reading when I can, and even deep breathing. Smile

We all have to make changes to accommodate our new lives and less pain makes it worth it.Smile

You are young honey. As you go through life you will be amazed at what you CAN do. The rule in my house is never say can't.
