Hi all,

I hope you all are having a less or better yet a pain free day. I am dealing with the after effects of working. My question to y'all: How do you deal with your body after excersise or a physically demanding day at work?

About the only thing physically demanding that I do is go to the pool therapy. My response to that is I get to sit in the hottub at the Y (where it's held) to relax my muscles and make me warm.

Otherwise, at home, I just rest alot. Sleep if possible. We have very low stamina and low tolerance for "physically demanding" anything, so rest is about the only solution I know. That and pain meds. Well, meditation might help destress and unlock muscles. Deep breathing.

JJ, the best thing I can do take my meds and find a nice soft spot and stay there. I sometimes feel like a hot shower would do good but I either don't have the energy to do it or hurt to bad to get in. I wish I had some good advice or something that really helps so I will be interested to see what else others say. Sometimes I beg my husband to rub my back but he hates to do it because he notices that I hurt more the next day after he rubs it because it is so knotted up.

Thanks for the replies...it really helps getting others perspective. I'm learning (over and over again) that over doing it comes with a price.

I'm hoping my visit with the Rhuem will provide me with some answers. Going to go toss and turn now...um sleep...uh yeah that.

yeah, I wish there was a good answer for this...for me it's a couple of days of extra pain meds and lots of "sleeping"

I am learning what I can and can't do. At the recommendation of my Rheumy I started exercising about 3 weeks ago. So I decided to pull out one of my many excecise DVDs that was collecting dust and popped it in. The DVD is full of 10min workouts that utilize the Figure 8 band. No aerobic activity just a good amount of stretching and strengthening. Other than than sometimes if the weather since I take a walk I the park. So far so good. But I know one day I will want to kick it up another h just to see what I can do
