If you think that you might have MS I would talk to your Rheumatologist and have him or her recommend a Neurologist. Good luck. Smile

MS, depending on where and which nerves/areas of the brain it strikes, can mean it's nothing more than in inconvenience, to being very debilitating. A visit with a neurologist is definately in order. Don't get too panicky til you know a)whether it is, in fact, MS and b)where it's at in the brain/nerves and c)how it's going to affect you. Like I said, it may not affect you much at all.

Now, all that said, I'm a pessimist at heart. I'd rather panic and assume the worst, and prepare myself mentally for it, then find out it's not that bad, than be optimistic and avoid thinking about it and find out it's going to really be debilitating. Rather be pleasantly surprised, then unpleasantly!!

I know it's no help. But in the immortal words of Douglas Adams... DON'T PANIC!! (HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference if you're not familiar with it.) W00t

~~MoiraWolf~~ Thank You Thank You Thank You => ;p =D I needed just 'someone' to talk back to my worries and thoughts, ya know heheheeeaaaaa ;p

And like you, I too am the type of woman who needs all the information to better prepare, pack, and think of several options of 'get-away' scenerios. =D =D I'm a mother, what can I say, heheee

Okay, now, that you're in on my situation here's all the new symptoms:

1) severe muscle jerks at night that awaken me with a palpitating heartbeat, and include jerking from the 'hips down' with both my legs in a bent position that jerk up to my chest, or the 'hips up' that awaken me the same way but cause me concern that I will end up breaking my NECK Ahhhh, yeah, those jerks are quite scary and are a wave-like jerk ending up with my neck quickly jerking back and forth.

2)weight loss

3)memory loss

4)slower movement

5)sharp stings in the feet and buttocks that doesn't go away by sitting down, but will last around 5 to 30 minutes

What do ya think???

Hey maybe I can be of some help here. Just went through all of that crap. All the MRI's, blood test and every other possible whatever......... Talked to my neurologist and he said "no way" to MS. Don't have the lesions which are a big indicator and I have several symptoms that mimic MS but that doesn't always count because Fibro definately has so many of everything that it just might be FIBRO (Yuck)! Anyway, three of the symptoms I had that usually are huge indicators are the jerking movements, numbness and tingling in the lips and also the "electrical current" feelings that run through my body randomly. Anyway, my doc says that these are all typical of FIBRO as well. I'm glad I don't have MS and now I've decided to try a different road. I will be starting some herbal remedies with the help of some very knowlegable people in that particular field. Yahoo, I'm ready.

Anyway, I just wanted to say my prayers are with you and hang in there. It might not be so bad. Smile

May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilites that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.....May you be content knowing you are a child of God.....Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you.

I'm an Advocate

Rather than panic or spend so much time worrying, please, just make an appt. and talk with your PCP or a Neuro or Rhuemy . After all, a medical professional will have the final say in what the problems might mean ~~~

I am sorry you are going thru this and I am sure it is scary for you ~~~
