Brandi,

Does your Father drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes?

Alcohol is one of the most abused drugs and it is legal.

Cigarettes kill and people smoke them everyday.

Just because those things are legal does not make it okay.

I just feel bad that you have to deal with someone so not informed on the facts.

Hope that you will seek some help with a good Doctor. Smile

No he's very health conscious. Doesn't drink, doesn't smoke. Most of the time if he goes to the doctor and they try to put him on meds he refuses and decides on alternative treatments such as exercise or diet. He's just not a believer in modern medicine.

I can respect how your Father feels and how he wants to live his life and his choices.

But he should also not put his beliefs on you or anyone else.

He should respect other people's choices just like he wants people to respect his choices.

Your Father should really be more open minded.

Make sense? Smile

brandib811,

The ignorance in the med community regarding fibro and chronic fatigue is completely contemptable. So many of us have been treated as if we are drug seekers or whiners etc. Don't stand for it hon, find a doctor who is actually ethical and will treat your pain appropriately so you can function better.

hugs heather

Hi, brandib, if, and that's a big if, there are more deaths with people on prescription meds than illegal ones, that's probably because there are more people on prescription drugs than there are junkies.

There is no way of knowing how many people OD on the streets.

They keep no record of Heroin and Crack and Meth and all the other drugs that addicts use.

I am not saying that there are not people that don't abuse prescription Meds.

But what about all the people that abuse Alcohol?

The worst part is...is that alcohol is legal. Alcohol is a drug.

People die of alcohol all the time.

What about the people that are dying all the time because of cigarette smoking?
