Glad I`m not the only one who smoking does help w pain.

Its always pleasant to be validated...tho not happy we all smoke.Blink

Dana, i think the nicotine reduces stress therefore reducing pain..all i can say is how it affects me!

Papaw had severe emphysema and swore that smoking helped him breathe. The doc said it was the warmth that would temporarily open his lungs but he was in a catch-22. He wouldn't need the warm smoke to open his lungs if he didn't smoke!

I ain't going to tell you not to smoke, it's your body. My 2cents tho is that we have enough going on, we don't need that too! TongueTongueTongueTongue

You know I have worked as a nurse for over 10 years. Not saying that it does not have bad effects. But sometimes I think that your genes play a big part in life. I am so miserable sometimes and I would anything for relief. There are consequences for everything. And believe me a smoker knows what can happen its just like one of those dont ask dont tell things

I'm an Advocate

Thank you angel for sharing those statistics with us, new knowledge is always a good thing. I personally have what I call my 3 C's things that I will never give up...coffee, chocolate and ciggies. I list them in just that order because that is the order in which I will give them up, ciggies first then chocolate then coffee.

Faieriemama, your "never give up the 3Cs" reminds me of something. When I was in high school, about to graduate and looking and planning for the rest of my life... there was a list of things I said I would never ever, under any circumstances, do.

I will have you know that so far, I've done every blasted one of them, with only one exception.

I still haven't slept with another woman! W00t

I have learned a valuable lesson in this. Never EVER tell you Universe you WON'T do something. It has a way of coming back to bite you in the butt! Cool
