Hello everyone - I've been off for a while - I have missed you guys. I have a question for you. Do any of you have one or two places that seems to be a primary area of pain? My right arm from my shoulder to my elbow - that muscle absolutely kills me almost every day! It is that muscle and then the underside of my thighs (because I sit most of the day in my job.)I wish I could find a "mini heating pad that I could wrap & velcro around my arm!

Just wondering...

I have a lot of pain in my right arm as well. I use rice socks and heat them in the microwave and wrap them around my shoulder then I use my heat pad around my arm and velcro it in place.

I have localized pain in many different areas some are worst then others but I never know which one is going to hurt. Today I just hurt everywhere the Rheumy decided to push on all my tender points and now they are rather tender! Sheesh she should know better.

I hope you feel better soon. Maybe put a heat pad under your but at work and turn it on and off throughout the day.

With me, it's my left hip. I had surgery to repair a labral (cartilege) tear a few years ago, and the ortho doc told me I had some joint degeneration in that hip. I don't know now if it's the degeneration that hurts (osteoarthritis), some Fibro-thing reaction from the surgery, or if the osteoartrhitis feeds the fibro which feeds the osteo, in a never-ending cycle of pain. But it's not *just* the joint that hurts. It hurts from the top of my pelvis on the side (near by waist) to half way down my thigh, and from the front of the leg (about the corner of the hairline) to the middle of the thickest part of that butt cheek. Today, because I spent most of yesterday moving from a downstairs motel room to an upstairs apartment, both my hip joints are SCREAMING at me.

When hubs gets paid on Friday... I simply MUST go buy me a king sized heating pad!

Hello mine is in the left shoulder and cheat it just wont let up it hurts all day every day makes you think your having a heart attack or something but its been happening for years.
Psalm 91

My Refuge and My Fortress

91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long lifrwill I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

I know what you are talking about. Mine is in both my arms, although primarily the left..it runs down my arm and across the back of my neck. This hurts almost 24/7. This is where I use the OTC cream most of the time, and my tens unit. This does seem to help the extreme pain, although it is always there.

There should be some kind of heating pads that you can put around your arm...if not, you should invent one. I'm sure they would sell, especially to fibromites!! HUGS

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

My pain is all over the top half of my body and since diagnosis the pain is moving down my legs to my knees. Went to my neuro yesterday and she is sending me to pain management. When I got home from the neuro, (she had done alot of poking and proding) I was done for the day. The pain in my shoulders and elbows were killer. Needless to say, I got nothing done, sat around feeling sorry for myself.

Gabapentin 1600mg per day.

Sleep aid.

Prozac 40mg per day.

Voltarin gel. as needed.

Yes, my worst places for the last 6 mos. or so have been my legs and feet. It used to be my shoulders and neck. Just shows how it seems to move around on us.
