MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Another thing that we have discussed here before and I know it's true in my case. Most of us have other illnesses plus the fibro which has to play a role in things. Is there anybody here that has fibro only and no other auto-immune illnes or chronic fatigue/depression/or other chronic pain issues? I really think that makes a difference, what do you all think?(O and by the way that should sound like y'all)

we all seem to have some other stress-related illness that started this. Other "normal" people have some kind of defenses that can fight. I read that somewhere and it made sense. I dont know of ANYONE who just started with fibro, thats a good question

I started on this path after a near death experience of pneumonia... not only did I end up with Fibro, but also a pretty cool heart condition. But hell.... at least I'm here right?

I started with a close encounter with thyroid cancer, and now have partial absence seizures. I don't know of anyone who started with just fibro either. I agree with ilovepetey1 that this is stress related, since stress reduces our bodies levels of certain chemicals that help with pain. Good attitude Aquarian211.

May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

I started with a bad car accident. Now have all kind of pain issues. I just try to look at any positive I can so I dont get depressed.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

For me I believe it was also after a really bad pneumonia, but I was really young, 3, at the time so I don't know for sure. After the pneumonia my health kinda depleted though, I developed epilepsy and then from there on I have had many other things pop up like this fibro But mine did go into remission for about a year not to long ago. Just this summer it came back and it hit hard... I'm really hoping for another remission soon
