MDJunction to me

grandmasylvia"MDJ has been "a soft place to fall" for me as Dr Phil says. I have this very painful rare disease Dercum's Disease and take comfort in finding others here who share their knowledge and compassion. Many
members have helped me just by understanding my anguish and validating
my pain. We are working together to encourage research toward a cure.

Sometimes I play an intense video game, or I watch extremely funny shows (I keep some on hand to help), or I do little yoga movements, or I drink tea/read a compelling book, or I say the HELL with it and GET REALLY MAD for a few moments to brn some of it off...

I also find that working on something you enjoy doing sometimes helps with enough distraction. For me, it's a computer game or quilting.

But yes, I am sick and tired of being sick and tires! Grin

I think all of us are sick and tired of being sick and tired. I either play Star Wars: The Old Republic, or I watch TV shows in marathons (a full season of a show, working on Fringe right now) while knitting, cross-stitching, or spinning. It keeps me busy, I feel like I've accomplished something (either another level on the game, or getting that sock finished, or making some yarn to work on another project), and all of them are easy to do and/or cause no pain. Since I can't do my old hobbies of Geocaching or Scuba Diving, I have to have SOMETHING to do that I enjoy.

I'm an Advocate

I'll jump on that wagon!! I'm sick and tired of hurting all the time too, just had enough of it right now! I totally agree with all of you, with all of the other stresses going on it's really pushing me over the top. I find relief watching videos with my son, he's a night owl like me and we stay up late watching movies or TV shows online. I come on to here too and vent, laugh even cry sometimes, I can't do the hobbies I used to do, so have been looking for something to do online. We all need to vent our anger at this disease in some or way or another and this group is a great place for that. I agree with Bananers we do need to work on something we enjoy to help distract us from the pain.

So good luck ladies find something you enjoy and distract yourselves, please let us know what you find. Hugs and Love

Hi, I am new to this type of contact, but not new to fibro. Am trying to find otheres in the North Brisbane or Redcliffe area.

If you have any information I would be indebted, I am hoping that contact with other sufferers may help in some way.

I kicked its butt everyday for years because I had to and I thought there was no other choice. it finally took its toll on me and i had to medically retire. I loved my job it just got too painful to get up and get there or do anything else. It has been several months and i am still having more pain days than any other. what is frustrating is, even though co workers and supervisors knew what it is based on personal experience, i was not allowed to miss work due to it and was basically told i was faking. The stress just made it so much worse than it might have been. Good Riddance to those people.
