Has anyone ever written a letter to the fibro? I have been considering this to see if it will help me work thru any emotions I haven't dealt with. I have had fibro for 16yrs, but it seems like each bad winter flare sparks off new (or old) emotions. I am tired of falling into the same pattern year after year and want to grow. I am not sure if this will help me or not, just something I am considering doing.

I did something similar in the past when I wrote a letter to my dad. I never mailed the letter,but I think it helped me with the grieving process. The story of my dad is a long one, but in a nutshell he left my family when I was a sophomore in high school. Anyway, the letter at that time helped so a few yrs later I was able to work things out w/ my dad before he passed away.

So, would the same be true for a letter to fibro? Please advise.

Warm hugs to you all... {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

that's a super idea. In my counseling I write letters to people that I don't mail and it helps to get it out. I can't believe i haven't thought of this myself. Great idea, cudos for you!

This idea was actually Dr. Patty's, so kudos to her! I just thought I would throw it out there for everyone else in case it might help others.

TeainTN, let me know if it helps you. I will be interested to know how it works for you.

Wishing you well.

I yelled at it and punched my pillow. I think it hurt me more than the pillow. lol It did help and God helped me remember that He wouldnt give me more than I can handle. I have claim that verse. It doesnt mean I dont cry or wish it would lessen but I know God will help me.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery,music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

I know exactly what you mean. I felt like I was throwing a fit the other day when I had another aha moment, realizing the fibro is here to stay. This time I got angry at God, not understanding what I am supposed to do with it. Well, after I wrestled with the emotions and apologizing to God, I ended up hurting more because of the stress. I have come to the conclusion though that there is SOME good that will come out of it. If nothing else, my family will be more compassionate and understanding!
