MDJunction to me

liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

I have been feeling so sick to my stomach for so long that today it got so bad I went back to the doctor. He found out my heart rate was insanely high(165 bpm) causing me to be way dizzy and shakey. I had an ekg done to make sure everything was ok, which it was, but I got put on a heart medicene that will keep my heart rate normal. The medicene is one that will make me super dizzy though, yay...I already have problems being faint cause I'm anemic so I'm not too happy about it. Also found out I have an inflammed rotary cuff in my shoulder that's making it hrut to move and I'm supposed to let it rest. That's hard to do with a 7 month old. On top of that, I have a TMJ disorder so my jaw is so sore that it hurts to even open my mouth...I have felt weak and sore and just awful today. Yesterday and today have been really bad pain days for me, but today was the worst ever. I hate that I'm going to have to live the rest of my life with this! I'm only 18...I wish there was some cure for it. On the bright side, I was able to help my husband understand more about fibro, and he has been so wonderful today. He took off work to help me cause he could tell I wasn't doing well. He has started being close to me again and not being so scared to hold me Smile I've missed it! I'm glad I have his support now and that I can talk to him about it without him getting frustrated and walking away. He told me he just wants to fix it, and there's no way he can so it hurts him because he sees me hurting. So you ladies were right. I hadn't thought of it like that, so thank you for helping me out. The doctor also cut my dosage of Savella, so instead of one pill twice a day, I get half of one, once a day. I hope that makes it better. So I guess there's been good and bad things, but the bad definitely seems to be overtaking the good. Ermm

I also read online that magnetic therapy sometimes works for fibro symptoms. Has anyone heard if this works? Or have you tried it? I'm just curious Smile

RaeAnna,

I have not heard of the magnetic therapy, but I'm sure there must be some info online about it. Maybe someone who has will come by and comment.

I'm so glad that your hubbie has become more knowlegdeable and is on your side. It is so hard sometimes to get them to that point. Like I said before, communication is the key. Congrats on that!

I'm sorry you have been going through so much. Do you have any family members, friends or neighbors that would be willing to come and give you some help? Maybe help out with the baby since you are supposed to rest your shoulder...Take any help you can get, and do not be afraid to ask for it. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Remember, it does take awhile to get the meds working for you, so be patient. I know it's hard, but it will pay off. HUGS

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Glad your hubs is on board! That will really help! Can you get water or physical therapy? Also, can you get some temp help with the baby, as mabri suggested?

I can't really get much help with her right now as my mother in law started working and my mom is in school and my grandma homeschools my siblings all day, then drives them around to their activities.

ushie-what is water therapy? I've never heard of it before? I can only do what medicaid will cover cause that's all I have for insurence and can't afford to pay for therapy. I was seeing a chiropractor, but the last time I went, he adjusted my back and it hurt so bad for so long I haven't gone back.

Water therapy can be PT or at a gym like the Y or RUSH. There may be a pool some where in your town that is free. There may not be an inst there to help. If there is a free pool. Maybe you can ask your Dr for some exercise to do. Check around and see if there is a community pool that the public can use. Did Dr give you a brace to prevent you from moving that arm? Be careful.

We don't have a free pool in our area unfortunately. I'll have to see about some exercises for when I can go to our pool. No, he didn't give me a brace. Just said to apply ice and heat and take ibuprofin and if it's not better in a few weeks then he'll give me a cortizone shot.

I used them and felt they did help. They took the edge off. They have them in mattress pads and my friend had them on her bed. I used to babysit their dogs when they went out of town and I would sleep better. They said it helped them sleep and my cousin said the same thing about them.

They need to be powerful.

I can't say they worked miracles as I still had trouble sleeping and the pain never went away but somehow it took off just a slight edge.

I also had a set where you could put them in therapy staps that wrap around your body, arms, legs, etc. I lent them to a friend who had strained back muscles and she said they helped when she did housework.
