I am asking this question for someone in my Church that has Fibro....She has had problems with her voice for about a month now. She is on the Praise and worship team at our church and she has not had a sore throat, any sinus drainage or even a cold. Her voice comes and goes, sometimes she can only whisper and there are times she has a very scratchy voice. She is concerned it may have something to do with fibro. Does anyone have any idea if fibro can attack the vocals? Please let me know.

I haven't heard about anything that could cause that problem, but there is so much that is unknown about FM and it wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of connection with it.

I went to the library and got several books that pertain to Fibro and each one has things that are different about FM in them.

I go from no voice to a BIG LOUD ONE (well, okay...normal) from one day to the next. I've had sinus problems most of my life though, so I'm not sure if it's Fibro or not.

I DO know that I catch colds easier though. AND THAT is the Fibro!

Hi Pooh; I too have problems with my voice. It comes and goes at its will. I started to think that maybe I was losing my voice because I have no one to talk to, when Im stuck in my apartment[fibro]. I hope it is temporary and that it isn't the fibro. I couldn't stand the thought of losing my voice.

i use to sing, and the biggest problem i had was vocal exhaustion. so i would have to not talk for 3 days, and take chamomile tea w/ honey. my kids LOVED it when i couldn't talk... but buddy, i could write reeeealy fast!

i haven't heard of it effecting the voice either, try the tea, and quiet. i hope she recovers, oh yeah, and after it starts, it is really east for it to mess up again.

I just have voice problems when my sinuses are acting up or I have a cold, etc. She probably needs to drink more.

I gotta agree that I get cold a whole lot easier. I can't even count on how many times I've gotten a cold so far. Well that could be the drastic fluctuation of the weather.
