MDJunction to me

Sylvia4648"I have suffered from depression most of my life, but had some long, non-depressed times. The last 16 years have been an on-going, constantly worsening nightmare for me medically, socially and with my family. 11/2008 to the present has been the worst time in my life, and new things just keep piling up. During that time I’ve gone from being mostly homebound to being totally homebound due to the errors of about 2 dozen doctors who overmedicated me so badly that I came home w/ 4 conditions I didn’t go in with. I spent months wanting to die, and finding MDJ may well have saved my life. It’s one of the worst feelings to know that nobody on earth needs you for anything; but now that I’ve been a group leader for awhile, there are people here who need me. Thanks MDJ." (Sylvia4648)

Ok, major venting coming - LOOK OUT!

I am crying b/c I d/n know what to do and I d/n know if my pcp is faking/lying to me or if its her staff!?!?!?! I was TOLD by her to call her today to let her know how the Lyrica she put me on mon is working. So, I was a good little girl and did as I was TOLD! Called in am left message w/receptionist. Called AGAIN in pm and left message w/her nurse. Well, the office has been closed for awhile and i'm sure they all got outta there real quick to start enjoying their holiday! Did anyone bother to call me back and answer my q's and try to help me w/my neverending pain that seems to be getting worse?! NO NO NO NO! But I am so glad that they are home now, snuggled up by the christmas tree w/all the presents underneath their stockings hung by the chimney w/care! Yea, I really am HAPPY for them! I have no idea when they will be back in the office! (Sorry, I used to work @ emergency vet open 24/7 and I worked on the holidays all the time! We had to....cats n dogs get sick on christmas, too! I d/n mind at all!)

This is NOT the first time this has happened w/her. Last time she put me on luvox, it caused a whole bunch of horrible side effects, tried to get someone to call and tell me what to do - NOBODY called. So I tapered off myself....three days after the last dose I was admitted to the hospital INVOLUNTARILY for 72hrs b/c I had some kinda major breakdown @ my tdoc and I guess I was telling her that I wanted to hurt myself - I d/n even remember it! Coincidence? Idk....she is soooooooo nice and sweet and caring - she gave me a big hug before I left mon! I don't get it! Is it me? Does she hate me and pretend to care? I know im not her only patient...but I have complained to her before about no one returning my calls! The ONLY reason I have stayed w/her is b/c she gives me a lot of discounts b/c im unemployed and uninsured. I seriously don't know what to do. Im being treated like garbage - just cast aside and never thought about again. Btw why did she start me on Lyrica (she d/n have free samples) free 7day trial when she knew I c/n afford it? There is no generic. And to get it free from Pfizer takes a month? Wow! To those of u who read all of this - bless youyou! Really, really needed to get this out!!!!!!! My back and neck hurt.

Hi, deep breaths...ok, does she have an after-hours/emergency #? Can you get more samples of lyrica to tide you over for the month? Is the lyrica giving you side-effects, or is the pain you're talking about the fibro pain? I don't think she hates you--could be a breakdown in communication between her and staff. Have you noted any delays to your doc before?

first I so know how you feel.it like an enless thing waiting for the call back you will never get..not deffending your doc cause I dont know her office works but all messages useually get sent to her nurse in charge at least mine due,and then from there if the doc need a note..but you are right out for the holidays and you are on your own..

it seems if you have the doc right in front of you everything is okay but once they are out of sight you are on the hiatiuose where we all wait for the call..

if you feel you are having troubles you might call a pharmacist they really are a world of info..

just so you know it wont be until Tues. if you even hear from any one..I have this problem all the time..if you live close enough go to the office if you dont hear from them..just a simple call to let you know they know would be great..

as for her perscribing lyrica, diffrent doc office will push the med they have contact with you know when your sitting there waiting and someone in a suite sneaks in behind the almighty door well they are from the drug companies, some not all get kick backs..so that is the med they will try first..you can tell your doc to try something diffrent if you are knowledgeable about them but I believe lyrica is the only one I know of in the family of that med(lyrica, gabitril, nuerotine)that you can get for free with help from the company so that might be why she tried you on it..I doubt it I would go with the first feeling on it...

Im sorry you are in this situation.. I understand why you stay there and its not just that office so many are tht way there is no common courtesy anymore

I am so sorry that your Doctor did not call you back.

I am sorry for your pain too.

Leave another message tonight with the Service and ask that the Doctor call you as soon as possible.

I know you are taking it personal but it probably is not personal.

Some Doctors are just not good at returning phone calls.

I do not understand it either but that is the way it is.

I think when you talk to the Doctor you should express how you feel and be clear.

Just try to have a nice weekend despite the pain.

I know....easier said than done.

Take life 1 moment at time and just know you are not alone.

My neck and back and shoulder blades and everything else in between are killing me too!!! Sad

Oh, Thx everyone! Yes, I do take everything too personal - probably the BPD kicking in! Smile it just seems like I have to go out of my way for everything now b/c nobody will do their job right! Or take time to make sure it gets done! You're rite broken - no common courtesy anymore! Sad I called the office to see when they'd be back but it just said "our office is now closed" - NO SHIT!? Sorry, still so angry and upset. Good idea to call the after hours #...will do! Otherwise my dad had a great idea....when they reopen i'll just go to office and sit there until someone tells me what to do! I've got all the time in the world! I'll stay til they close if I have to....wont let em kick me out til I have answers! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! Thx again! Ur all the best! Happy Holidays!

Ushie, yes this has happened several times before and I tell her about it everytime. I have no side effects from Lyrica, but the fibro pain has gotten worse. That's why I was to call b/c am on a low dose and she said she could up it.

Hi, I hope that you track her down on the after hours line and explain about the pain and lyrica dosage. She might be able to help now, or at least by Monday! Hang in there, friend!

How long have you been on Lyrica? It can take two weeks or longer before you may start to notice a difference in your symptoms. The longer a chronic pain cycle continues, the harder it becomes to manage or stop. Take care.

I'm an Advocate

I agree with the advice given by the wonderful ladies here dear. Call her after hours number and let her know how you are feeling, that your pain has become much worse, and you need her help. Continue call until you get a hold of either or her nurse and somone does something for you. As the oh so wise Adewyn said if she doesn't have an after hours number there is something seriously wrong. I live out in the wilds of a rain forest about a mile from a very tiny town with one doc in his practice and he has an after hours number, granted it goes to his nurses home number, she either answers every time or returns your call. Until you can reach her try to relax, may be take a warm bath, use a heating pad or a heated rice filled sock. Cover up with a blanket warmed in the dryer, read a book, watch a movie whatever relaxes you. Remember we are all here for you whatever you need us for. Big Hugs and Loads of Love. Merry Christmas!
