MDJunction to me

saralaurie"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

It was about chronic pain and fibromyalgia was actually mentioned. It was not the patients problem, but the mention it gets the more we will be believed. They also talked about the problems associated with being in chronic pain. I was kind of mad at one of the doctors reactions. I can't remember her name, she was shot right down when she tried to say fibro is not a definitive diagnosis. I am curious if anyone else saw it and what they thought.

It is such a relief when you first find out.
That the pain really does have a name,
And then you will ask (and everyone does),
"Just where can i place all the blame".
No matter the limits, no matter the pain,
There's no evil, cruel "Master Plan".
It just simply happens, It just simply is.
You adapt, and you change what you can.
But even with the knowing the best and the worst,
All the pitfalls the future could hold,
You still have a choice, you quit or you fight.
You determine the story that's told.
And every small step that we take, my dear friends,
Each battle that we slowly win,
Just credits the love and the caring we share
With the FMily that we call our friends.

I wish that I would have seen that episode. I wonder if there is anyway to watch it. I would really be interested.
Keep fighting. Fighting back is sometimes harder than being diagnosed. Each day is a new challenge. But you can over come what ever you put your mind to.

I think you can go online and pull up House and see past episodes that way. It wouldn't hurt to try. I have seen past episodes of CSI and Meerkat Manor, etc. available. Good luck. BTW, which episode are you talking about?

I saw the episode. Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought they cast FM in a negative light. Turned out the man's pain was "real" due to having some form of epilepsy.

The episode was on Monday night and it was titled Painless. I got a different impression. The one doctor scoffed at the idea of fibro, but the other doctor made no bones about telling her she was wrong. They said he could not have fibro becasue his pain got better and not worsed when they applied pressure. Which made sense. I have it on DVR so I watched the part about fibro several times. I thought it was only one doctor that doubted the validity of fibro and the others kind of thought she was crazy. I also thought the way they talked about chronic pain and how it could lead to suicide was interesting. I did not agree with everything on the show, but chronic pain is getting attention. That can only be good for us.

I saw the very beginning and the best line in the whole darn thing was when one of the doctors (I think the one that used to be a plastic surgeon) said that the guy was just depressed. House said:

'The man's pain is not caused by depression - the man is depressed because he is in constant pain!'

I started applauding right then in there. I was great!!

Yep, I have a crush on House...sure do.

I loved that line too Kay. I have been waiting for them to do a chronic pain episode. Since it aired so many people have called me and asked me if I saw it.

I missed it too. I either fell asleep or was on line here. I got behind one day last week and didn't get to watch any TV that day.

Thanks for the link IKP
