Swelling can be a symptom of many many things. Severe edema is a big issue and should be dealt with as soon as possible. Edema is readily visible by doctors who have any training at all. They should have looked for pitting. The fact that you are saying that it's all over including the face all the way to the legs is concerning to me. It's possible that it could be an allergic reaction to a med or food. Or it could be something totally different. If you experience any breathing issues like shortness of breath or wheezing, you should get to a dr right away. Hopefully your PCP can tell you something in the morning. I would also suggest taking pictures of the swelling now if you have a camera. If it's more swollen in the morning, you can show the dr and judge how much more.
