  "Fibro" (Sullivan56)

MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

Well they say stress and trauma can trigger Fibro. In the last year I had to drop out of graduate school due to lack of funds and give up a dream of changing careers, couldnt find work to support me in Chicago and was forced to move back to my hometown of Joplin. I arrrived 3 days after that terrible tornado ripped the heart out of my hometown. I got a job that I thought was answer to prayers in working for a subcontractor of FEMA to supervise cleanup crews, after 2 days working in the heat I had a heatstroke.

So stress and the trauma of the heatstroke brought mine on, I think.

I am not a doctor but I have seen some on TV

I still haven't figured mine out. Mostly because my other illnesses show similar symptoms.

PSTD (insane mom, husband's horrible death, etc.,) and broken neck and double pneumonia. But hey, things could have been a lot worse! My mom could have succeeded in killing me!

Mine started when my ex beat me with a medal pipe full with cement and punctured my lung. Then in 05 I had bad surgery which lead me to almost die due to losing so much blood and from there with in two months i had 3 surgerys which put me in a coma and I woke up to back surgery and them removing 3/4 of my left lung. I never got better from there I now only have 1/3 of my stomach, right lung and colon. All I can say is im still alive so I have to be greatful.

Hugs

My mom use to say God dont like ugly and he aint to fond of pretty. Wow that speaks loudly to me.

What we go through in life dont dictate who we are going to be or who we are only we have the control over our lives to do that. Never give up and always follow your dreams.

I am not a doctor and my advice is purely from my own experiences. I will always be here for you all if you need me just pm me anytime.

It can be physical or emotional trauma. Mine started with a bad fall at work but I had some symptoms before. Things that I thought were normal pain weren't. I was an insomniac at age 12. Things like that. Then I had the fall and everything started the downslide.
