Well, I am on the fence with Lyrica. I DO believe that it works for pain, but you have to watch out for the side effects. I was on it for 2 weeks, and in those two weeks, my pain started to diminish, but I gained 22 lbs. in water weight! I stopped it immediately because the pharmacist said that 1% of patients to have weight gain and that it would remain as long as I was on it. But considering that only 1% have that problem, I think it is generally a great new med for fibro. I have heard a LOT of people say it has helped their pain, but also had side effects of dizziness, fogginess, etc. I hope it works for you, good luck!

Hi all,

i have been on Lyrica for over a year now, and i dont know what i'd do without it!

i tke 150mg a day,

Leanne,

in regards to your statement,

'My rhuematologist gave me freebies that the drug company guy left. He said that if they didn't work then I probably didnt have fibro'

that couldnt be more wrong, just because someone doesnt react to a medication does not mean that they dont have the illness that the doc is treating, not every med works on every patient!

just my 2 cents worth.

Karen T.

do you still have pain with Lyrica? Fatigue? If so can you put a percentage on how much better it makes you feel pain wise? Fatigue wise?

I did gain weight, A LOT of it!! 22 lbs. in 2 weeks. I had to get off of it. It was reducing pain, but causing so much weight gain, I couldn't close my fingers to grasp anything and I had kankles. It only happens 1% of the time, but the pharmacist said as long as a patient is on it, you will gain weight, if you ARE IN that 1%!!

seems like a lot more than 1% based on our little survey here.

Whatever changes they made to Lyrica, it definitely feels different frim Nuerontion- no weight gain yet- but the edema in my legs is mch worse-which always makes the pain seem

so I am going to delude myself into thinking that its just edema thats causing my clothes to fit more tightly. Just wish I could find the right combo of stuff so I am not gorked

out when I want to be alert, and that I can get a modicum of sleep.
