MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

These last couple of weeks have been really bad and I really don't want to bother anyone hear with my babble, but I have no one in my life that I can talk to or will listen to me. My fibro is not under control, I go to bed and wake up with a headache every day of my life, every test that has ever been done on me has always come up negative and I am always wondering if I should be here or not because of the way I am being treated by my family, friends and co-workers. I had to push my current doctor to do tests on me to get me where I am today with the fibro diagnosis. I live in a small town and I have no insurance or money to pay for insurance. I am trying to get by every day with the pain, working while in pain to put food on the table for my family, I take about 5 different pills a day n they don't seem to be working, every time I try and get assistance for something whether it be food or something my husband and I make too much money.. I am at my witts end.. Sorry to bother everyone but I had to do something before I cried for the next two hours before I fell asleep..

hi, lostforwords, you feel badly and people aren't helping you. Of course you have the right to feel the way you do! You have the right to work, be part of a family, and live! They're being jerks because they perceive that you're "inconveniencing" them, or you might "inconvenience" them at some point in the future. Are they doing anything convenient FOR YOU? If not, the hell with what they think. Seriously. Your co-irkers should shut up and mind their own business if they can't or won't help you. Dismiss them from your mind--seriously. Hell with them! Your family? Can you and your husband go to counseling so he can hear what you have to say? As for the rest of the family, if they're being jerks because you won't jump when they want you to, the hell with them, too! YOu can go on line and get some help with prescriptions by going to the pharmaceutical sites; you can find counseling with a "sliding" fee or a helpful religious person, or come on line here and we can find you some e-group in your state or other contact(s). Hang in there, we will listen, I will send you a hug!

Thank you ushie!! We all get to our boiling points and I am about to explode, and I am afraid of what I might say or do.. But thank u for ur kind words.. Counseling is out of the question for him.. I would love to go but I have to find someone that isnt that expensive.. I have an appointment with the department of health and human resources tomorrow about some kind of work assistance insurance.. so hopefully i qualify for that but i have to take proof of income and blah blah blah and usually that means we make too much money.. to be honest, how can u make too much money when u r a 5 member family and make only a little of $40,000/year?

Lostforwords,

You are welcome here anytime to rant, rave, vent, cry, or whatever. That's what we are here for. We all come here in times of need, when no one else will listen to us, or even try to help us. That's why we are a family. We are better than "3D" family, because we do understand and care all the time.

I agree with Ushie, Do not let ppl bring you down, when you know you are doing the very best you can with the cards you have been dealt. We all get flack from spouses, children, parents, and whoever. Do not let their ignorance bring you down. Dismiss them like ushie said. I know you can't dismiss some ppl, but you can let them know that the way you are being treated is unacceptable, and you will not longer allow it. It sounds like you are working your fingers to the bone just to help make ends meet. For this you should be praised for, not degraded.

I hope you can find some help at the dept of health tommorrow. Like ushie said, there is help for med costs and there is a lot of clinics that work on a sliding fee. If you need any help locating some resources, feel free to pm me and I will see what I can find for you. Hope you have a good nite, and peaceful sleep. HUGS

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

You can't bother us with "babble"! That's what this is here for. Complain when you have to, celebrate when you can, and ask for help when you need some. Life seems sometimes to find a way to beat us down. Whether it's bills, our health or some other randomness, it'll get to you if your there long enough. Just remember when you feel that there's too much on you, that life is valleys and mountains. Keep your eye on that mountain!

Don't ever feel like you are just babbling on this site. You can do as hatbox said and more. I know it is hard to to make it on the income. The financial stress makes FM worse because stress makes FM worse.

I hope things get better for you soon. There is a lot of good advice here.

Hugs,
