Why wear a ribbon?

"I wear this ribbon 4 fibromyalgia, PCOS, endometriosis and hypothyroid." (endofibro4life78)

MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Really impressive. I so hope you send it. It is about time we get some real press on the issue. Speaking of that, has ANYONE in the old hollywood scene been dx and public about it? Yah know when that happens at least they get some attention i.e. Michael J. Fox and Parkinson's, Richard Pryor and MS - I've yet to here of anyone?

Ya know, I remember way back the singer "cher" was dx with CIFDS. And she was out of the spotlight for a while. Then she came back but had gained some weight. Now she's out of the limelight again......mmmmmm interesting, eh?

Yeah!!Sundazey, beautifully written. Thank you for being able to write such wonderful senteces and put how we all feel down for someone else to read. te docs are tough "normal" people they can handle it LOL.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

You know what???!!!

I think that doctors don't want to 'admit' that Fibro is for real!!

You know why???

Because they CAN'T FIX IT. They can't make it better or go away. So, if they don't 'agree' that it exists...THEY don't look like $h*t for not knowing or being able to HELP US!!!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Okay, now I gotta go back up and read the letter that sundazey wrote! I'm dyin' ovah heeah! (I say that cuz my hubby's from New Yoyk! LOL.......NO...he doesn't talk like that...only when he's joking around...okay....ENOUGH OUTTA ME...I gotta read the damn letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wrote to the times myself. I received an alert from the fibro network and they too are asking for us to respond to the article. I sent mine to the editor and just received a email response stating that it could be released in the paper. They seem to be getting alot of heat over the article not only from fibro suffers but also from dr's and researchers accross the country. I'd be willing to bet that they didn't think they would receive the response they have to this article.

copy of what i sent:

As someone who has been suffering for over two years with the pain and constant fatique associated with fibro I found your article to be in bad taste. If anyone had to live in my shoes for one day they would never publish this kind of article. I for one as a successful business owner would not give up my life, as I have, if I wasn't in constant agony! Due to naysayers like you, we fibro suffers will not ever get the treatment deserved. Our own doctors treat us as if were complainers and give us false hope with new medications that won't help or cure our pain. We need the news media to be more sympathic and maybe we could get the respect and treatment needed to go back to living our normal lives. The media should be encouraging research and help for us.
