Hatbox, i think these resources we have discussed here should be made available to all of MD JUnction, to all the groups, is there a GENERAL public forum we could add all of this to, for everyone or contact moderator or mediator of all groups? VERY BENEFICIAL to all,I think.

I'm an Advocate

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I know here you can only get help with your heating/electric bill in the winter, and getting help with your rent is almost impossible unless you qualify for state aid under certain programs. We have food banks in each town that you can go to and there are homeless shelters for men and abused women but the waiting list for HUD housing is 2+ years long. I do like the idea onlinesales had about making a resource list available to all groups on MDJ. It is a hard time for everyone out there and any help we can offer would surely be appreciated.

Here's a link for the top hospitals in the country. The most interesting ones for me are the teaching ones. Those usually have specialty clinics on site and have charity care based off not having insurance and your income. You may qualify for partial help or complete help depending on income(meaning they pay a percentage of your bill or all of it).

For those without insurance you can drastically reduce your medication costs by using www.healthwarehouse.com.

The reason this company can provide such reduce costs for meds is because they only provide medications to those that do not have insurance, therefore they get some sort of discount from manufactures, as well as not having to have the additional expenses by having to file insurance paperwork.

There has been some sceptic's that don't believe that an online pharmacy is valid due to the fact that until now, a large majority of these type of pharmacies have been the scam out of the country type business that are most likely selling you placebo tablets.

Let me express that this is NOT the case with www.healthwarehouse.com. They are licensed through all 50 states and are 100% legit. I have been using them now for about 2 months and have reduced my medication costs by over half. Additionally, the transfer and refill of my prescriptions, including my Norco has been quicker and far easier than I anticipated.

There was an issue back in Nov. when they upgraded to a brand new computer program, which can happen to the best of us, however they responded to the delay not only by refunding my order costs but by overnighting my medications to me. Their customer service is top notch.

If you are uninsured and don't have Rx's that you don't get copay assistance on, I strongly urge you to try this company out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with your savings and their customer service.

Stay strong,

Susan
