MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." I am in a bad flare up and unfortunately it is my husband's best friends' wedding today. At the rehearsal dinner last night the noise of all the guys together went right through me. I couldn't take it anymore. Their super loud voices were causing my nerves so much pain. My husband doesn't understand how. Well... neither do I but it happens. I have the wedding today with somthing in between the church and reception and a brunch in the am. I don't know how I am going to get through this weekend with my pain where it is at. Especially... since it will all be loud and a huge party... rightfully so. Wish I wasn't so stinkin sensitive to everything. I'd rather be home reading a book quietly. How sad...Thanks.... needed to vent.. scared...

Noise intolerance is one of the many "perks" associated with Fibromyalgia. Most of us are super sensitive to noise and light levels. This issue goes hand in hand with a central nervous system that generally over reacts to everything.

Get a pair of those soft foam earplugs to wear. Maybe you can cut them down a bit to make them less noticeable. It might help dampen the noise enough that you will be able to relax and enjoy yourself. You can find them at Lowes or sometimes even drug stores carrry them.

I hope that my comments are helpful to you. Take care and enjoy the wedding/holiday weekend.

Do you have a prescription for anti depressant? This will help as well. Rest as much as you can because this also helps me.

Wishing you good health and good luck. Take care.

Poor thing...I hope you are able to get through today. Tomorrow hole up with that book! I understand what you are going through, though. I often have to tell everyone to turn down the music or TV. Hang in there...the day has only so many hours in it. Thinking of you and hoping it won't be so bad.

I too cant tolerate loud music/TV anymore. When I was young,I used to go see bands, and the louder the better back then!! Im so sorry you have to go through this day. I know what its like to have to push yourself through something you really dont want to do. Try and go slow, and take it as easy as you can. Have a pain pill handy as well. I hope you feel better soon!

I took my Motrin and have Xanax on standby to help. Wish I was able to tolerate more meds. I just hate (sorry to be negative - not my style) that flare ups can be so unpredictable turning a happy event like today into a day I just "need to get through". If I was not in this bad flare I'd be enjoying the wedding like everyone else. Strangely enough one of the bridesmaids has fibro, just found out, and we plan on meeting up at the reception to talk. I am looking forward to getting to know her better and seeing what works for her. Just dreading the loud noise of the music tonight.... ugghhh!!!

we have had many discussions on this..all I can figure is the vibration of the noise..I know the tv muscic even talking can drive me nuts..a loud noise can send me through the roof, and tighten everything..

I understand what you mean about getting through..and thats awsome you meet someone with fibro as well..I hope you guys hit it off..

we all have alot to give if one gets the help then some of this suffering is worth it..

remeber I am not a doctor I just say what I think

Well... made it through. I would have LOVED to dance tonight but couldn't get my legs moving at all even a bit. Oh well.... This is why I appreciate so much when I get to do those things because days like today I just can't.

Not sure but the girl with fibro. seemed to avoid me so perhaps she was having a good day and time and didn't want to talk about it. Understandable at a happy event. Going to try to get some sleep. Left my husband there.... still dancing.... good for him... I'm enjoying the peace and quiet in my home right now. Ahhhh!
