Ok, this could be somewhere else in all the posts but I got tired of looking! Smile Anyone else who has degenerative disc disease along with their fibro? I met a woman who works at the shelter I volunteer at from time to time and she has fibro along with ddd. She has had fibro since she was 13 and is in her 50's. It is nice to talk to someone who has all the same symptoms as I do. I don't feel as crazy! I just wondered if there is a correlation between the two problems.

Thanks!

Hello,

I too have Degenerative joint/disc disease with every joint in my body under destruction, and my rheumy tries to manage my pain. C2 & C3 have fused together several years ago, and today is not a good day, because besides being in elevated pain today, I can't turn my head from side to side, and I have to hold on to the walls to walk down t he hall because of pain in my knees, ankles and feet, and every muscle fiber there is. So I truly understand your difficulties.

I also have degenerative disc disease, along with Psoriatic arthritis which is an autoimmune disorder similar to Rheumitoid arthirtis. I have arthritis in every part of my body..yuck.

I don't think there is necessarily a correlation between the two, but they definately play into each other. My back muscles get so tight that my chiro has trouble working with them. and the muscles in my neck are so tight that its making my scoliosis in my neck worse.

My dx: Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's syndrome, Degenerative disc disease, 2 herniated discs, Endometriosis, TMJ, IBS, Costocondritis, bipolar, and possible Anklydosis Spondylitis.

Yes, I have DDD too. L-5 left the building and then I developed Fibromyalgia (FMS). It is common for people with FMS to have stenosis/DDD. Take care.

I have DDD in the C-4 and C-5. Mine stems from a swim practice accident when I was 14 years old. I hit my head on the bottom of the pool practicing starts for a meet.

I have DDD I also have Fibromyalgia. My back is always killing me all on the right side. It's weird that I have this level-4-6 all over with the crawling tingling burning pain. But this chest pain is a clear level 7-9 I almost went to the hospital last night it was sooooooooo bad. PLEASE GODDESS MAKE THIS PAIN ALL GO AWAY!

I noticed your post today. I have dealt with severe lower back and upper back pain for many years. I recently had an MRI and was diagnosed with DDD. It not only causes severe pain but also numbness in my hands, as well as the entire right side of my body, including my face.

I also have Chronic Lyme Disease. I visited my neuromusculoskelektal doctor yesterday and showed him my MRI results. He said that DDD (Black Disc) is also caused from Lyme. If you haven't been tested you should. I use the Marshall Protocol for treating my Lyme. I've been on the protocol for 14 months now. I have had some progress, but it has taken me every bit of that time to get to stage 2 of the protocol.

I wish you the best.

I have degenerative joint disease in my left hip that I know of. My grandfather and mother both have DDD, so evidently, at least in our case, it runs in the family. I haven't been told I have DDD yet, but considering that a lot of my pain is focused in my low back, if I try to do anything like wash dishes, my back goes into spasms, and that hip, I suspect I have it. Should think to ask the rheumy (as if I can remember ANYthing these days!).

Last couple days I've had horrible pain, top of the right pelvic bone, right side, just to the right of the spine. I suspect it's sciatica. Oh, and there's the double curve scoliosis.

Hi moirawolf, happy granny here, I had no idea that these two problems were so closely linked. I just thought that after yrs of standing doing hair that my back was bad but that it was a completely seperate issue from the fibro. But I have to tell you that finding you is like relief to know that again I am not alone with these problems. Would you mind if every now and again I could pm you with some questions about this? I hope your day is low pain for you and hope we speak again, soft hugs to you happy granny
