I have degenerative joint disease in my left hip that I know of. My grandfather and mother both have DDD, so evidently, at least in our case, it runs in the family. I haven't been told I have DDD yet, but considering that a lot of my pain is focused in my low back, if I try to do anything like wash dishes, my back goes into spasms, and that hip, I suspect I have it. Should think to ask the rheumy (as if I can remember ANYthing these days!). Last couple days I've had horrible pain, top of the right pelvic bone, right side, just to the right of the spine. I suspect it's sciatica. Oh, and there's the double curve scoliosis. I am not a medical doctor and any medical opinion I give is based on personal experience and/or research. Anyone else who has degenerative disc disease along with their fibro? I met a woman who works at the shelter I volunteer at from time to time and she has fibro along with ddd. She has had fibro since she was 13 and is in her 50's. It is nice to talk to someone who has all the same symptoms as I do. I don't feel as crazy! I just wondered if there is a correlation between the two problems.
