Merry Christmas everyon. I have been in so much pain the past week or so. The pain is in my wrists. They hurt so bad. I can hardly bend them or make a fist. When they act up you can actually see knots on the tops of my hands. The pain get so bad that it keeps me up. Last week it was my right one, and the past few days it has been my left one. Has anyone every had anything like this before. It is really starting to scare me.

Jul, hi and welcome to the group. Is it worse at night and lasts a couple hrs in the mornings and then lightens up some thru the day or does it get worse throughout the day? The first is symptons of RA. Have you been checked for this? The second could be carpals tunnel, osteoarthritis,Fibro, or maybe other things. It is very common to get RA abd Fibro together which makes Dx's tough. I got lucky?? and had both Dx'd at the same time. You should definetly let your doc know. Wrist splints at night also help a great deal.

Good luck and I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Hi Jul and welcome to our fibro family. I too get the pain and swelling in my hands and wrists. That's why I was sent to a Rheumy because my PCP thought I had rheumatoid arthritis. Turned out I had fibro and Osteoarthritis. I have some days where they hurt so bad even to touch them that I feel that I should have an invisible cast on them.. My pcp told me to take aleve for the pain. I use some of the ace wrist bandages when the pain get really bad in my hands. They are adjustable with velcro closings and they work wonders for me.

Hi Jul and welcome and so sorry to hear that you are going through this.

I have alot of wrist and finger pain. I, like Janilee was dx with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. The Osteoarthritis being the pain I feel in my fingers. I don't have any knots in the top of my hands though.

I agree with everyone else, you should really tell your doc about this.

Good luck and please keep us informed,

Kay

Thanks everyone for the support. I have a Rheumy, and did try an call him today. Only the office was closed. I really feel awful. My hand, wrists, even my upper arms and sholders. I plan on calling him on Monday. I need to do something. The pain lately had been really bad.
