Hydrocodone is vicodin. I cannot believe that dr will only give out 2 Vics a day.

I guess I am very very lucky. I used to work for my interist. So he will prescribe me just about anything I want, anytime, plus lots of samples if he has them. I am sorry to hear there are drs who just dont trust what their patients are telling them.

I was on lyrica for three months, gained 30 lbs and had to discontinue because I was swelling like a water balloon (even though it did help with pain). My Rhumatologist will not prescribe anything else.She said if my pain wasn't bad enough to keep taking Lyrica, it was'nt bad enough for narcotics! Now, I know i need a new rhummy, but how do I know in advance If they will prescribe anything stronger without them thinking I'm drug seeking? Just wondering...

I have been taking cymbalta and it too has put additional weight on me. Thinking of discontinuing it. Kind of afraid to.

My doctors won't prescribe them at all to me and I don't even like them! sometimes I feel so bad that I would go ahead and take one if I had one. My dr feels if i won't take the full dose of zanaflex that I must be trying to get a narcotic. I have 2 young kids that have only me and I need to be interactive not nodding in and out of reality. I think they over do it w/ muscle relaxers and skip the pain that comes from the reason one needed muscle relaxers!! Oh well, I believe in miracles. Hopefully one day this will fade away.

I hope I didn't sound vain about the weight, but I was really worried that if I put 30lbs on in 3 months I was on my way to 60 in 6.I had to have my wedding ring cut off after 13 years. My body just did'nt feel right. I had a really bad reaction to cymbalta. I felt like I had bugs crawling all over me and pulled clumps of hair out. I'm on Abilify & Zoloft now and most days manage my moods ok.

Hi PSK, I was wondering if she wouldn't prescribe remicaide. Lyrica may not be the answer for everyone. It's so hard to find a good doc. I've heard of a new anti-viral drug called Ampligen that has been very effective. I don't know if it has been put on the market or not. Good luck and I hope you will get some relief soon!

I'm so sorry Heartcopper. Men are stupid. (I'll have to say most men are). Hopefully, you will find some help for your pain. Have you talked to your doc? Maybe they have something that will help. You could always keep him satisfied in other ways...LOL. Most of the time I just act like I want to too, but I don't. I've lost desire and like you said, the pain is not easy either. Good luck!

Look for a "Wellness Center" or a "Pain Specialist." There is actually a fibro/CFS/ME specialist in Charlotte NC that I see. He's wonderful. He's at Hunter-Hopkins Center. His name is Dr. Charles Lapp. Maybe you can look him up by Google and maybe he'll have links to something you can use. good luck!!! Suzanne
