'help' I'm currently taking a cocktail of meds, so I'm either in a complete daze or in terrible pain or both! I've been prescribed with Gabapentin, Tramadol and Paracetamol for the pain and Mirtazapine 30mg for the depression. Mirtazapine is good for helping me get to sleep at night and once I get to sleep I manage a full 12 hrs sleep! But I can not seem to wake up until I'm physically ready to wake up! Is this normal?

I'm so tired all the time snd I cant be bothered with the most menial of things, which end up being a mountain of things to do, personal hygiene is one thing that often gets neglected along with keeping on top of general housework. I've been to Pain Management Classes and learnt all about pacing, light excercise and relaxation techniques.

I worry about money as I am unable to hold down a Job at the moment and I am unsure about what benefits I can claim etc. If I had enough money coming in I would consider hiring a cleaner once or twice a week! In turn it may help with my depression by having one less thing to worry about!

Any advice out there for me? any would be welcome!!

I'm an Advocate

I had the same problem with some of these meds, especially the anti-seizure drugs like gabapentine...it went away when I changed the type of meds. I am on Savella which works on the fatigue and insomnia, Lexapro, Opana, and Percocet (the last two for the pain) and supplement with multi-vitamins. I went through quite a bit of experimentation in 7 months since diagnosis in Oct 2010. Talk with your doctor. It doesn't have to be like this. and, welcome! You will find wonderful people here with good solutions, comfort and reassurance.

Hi and welcome to the group! I am also on savella and it does help with my pain and fatigue also. Your combo of meds may not be right for you. It takes a while to find the right combo. I have had fibro for 7 yrs. now and I just found my right combo 1 yr. ago.

Savella, dicflonac (arthritis) soma, vicodin and klonopin is what I am on. But dont get me wrong u will still have ur days. Good luck honey!
