Midnyte

I've had issues with my hands, legs, and feet swelling for years but lately I have noticed that even after taking Lasix and my other regiment of meds, they are still swollen, feel tight and hurt. At times I can barely stand because my ankles and feet feel as if the bones are literally popping out of my skin. It only takes a couple of minutes of standing/walking for this to start. It seems to be getting worse each week. Anyone else have this and if so, what do you do?

I can't see my new PCP again until Jan. 6 and find out some test results from all the bloodwork and x-rays she ordered. I don't get to see the PA or Dr. at the pain clinic until the end of Jan. and this is really getting to me. I have noticed even driving is getting harder to do. I have gotten approval for aquatherapy and hope to start that next month. I pray that will help in many ways. I know my weight gain (30 lbs since Sept.) isn't helping either but I can't exercise like this. Sad

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Midnyte,

Can you call the new doctor either today or Friday, and tell them what is going on. Yhne ask if there is any way you can get in to see the doc before january 5t, Ask if you can be put on a cancke list.

Hope this helps.

Jenn

I just want to let you all know that I am just like you, a regular person. I am not a doctor or a therapist, but I do promise to be there and listen as often as I can.
Hugs and Peace,
Jenn

If it is getting extreme then yes I agree with Jenn call the doc and at least talk to him and tell him what's going on. Maybe he can offer something to help? Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Midnyte,

I m sorry to hear you are going thru this , especially at such a terribly busy time for everyone.

Like others say, please call your dr. office first thing on Friday and hopefully, they are open (I know many offices run skeleton staff and very light on appts. this time of year but can usually get someone is in a case such as yours) or if not, there is at least someone there that you can talk to about the swelling.

Another suggestion might be to talk with your pharmacist and see what he/she might be able to recommend you do.

Have you started any new meds recently ? Thinking maybe some of them are disagreeing with each other...

Good luck and please let us know what you find out ...

Take care and have a wonderful holiday !!!

Marilyn

Thank you all for your responses and concern and advice!

I have spoken with my pharmacist and Lyrica causes swelling and is probably adding to my previous swelling issues. The pain is probably coming from OA and my increased weight. I can't get an appointment with my PCP until Jan. 6 but until all my tests results come back, she doesn't want to change or add anything else unless it gets unbearable. I can tolerate it at the level it is now, it just limits my being on my feet more than a very few minutes at a time.. I will update once I find out more from the tests.

Hey Midnyte, sorry I am just now reading this about the swelling. I haven't been on here for a few days. I too am on Lyrica, and I also suffer from the weight gain and swelling especially in my feet and calves. It happens every so often with me. I have been on Lyrica for about 1 1/2 years, and it has happened about 5 times total for me. I have it right now in my ankles and feet, and it is hurting really really bad so I know what you are going through. I have had every test done for this, but my doc said it was just from Lyrica side effect.

I also started aquatic therapy at the YMCA 2 weeks ago, and at first it was so painful afterwards, but it is getting better now.

Let me know how you are doing!

hello,

Swallen legs can be very painful. Have tried fresh dill? It is natural diuretic. My wife was taking fresh dill and cellery. It helped with the swelling. Maybe some cranberries/juice to help your kindeys can be good too. Sincerely, HerbCool
