MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

My paina nd stiffness have definetly increased these past few months then what I delt with before. Now Ive been getting "charley Horse" type cramps in my legs, my arms even when I try to do something simple like clasp my bra...not all the time but enough. My knees, elbows, hands and feet hurt. I go to pick something up and my hand seems to cramp. They are almost constantly pins and needles . I have to keep moving or it will catch up with me . Sounds like Im running from a monster dosn't it? But, its true, if I sit or lay too long, it hurts and Im like a cardboard doll..all stiff. At least if I keep moving...I feel better. Im just scared..Im only 43..this shouldn't be happening to me.

I guess this is just a pity day for me.

Hey Shar... I take muscle relaxers 3 times a day most days to help with those muslce spasm things... It doesn't make it go away... but it helps.

Sorry your having such a rough patch! Hoping for a better day tomorrow... or hell.. how about today!

Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.

Have you tried a hot, hot bath with epsom salts? it helps me on the worst days like yesterday. I also wrap myself in a heating blanket and lay very still on the couch. after you get really warm do some gentle stretching. I feel the same things you described. it's all part of the illness. and having a pity party for yourself every now and then is a GOOD thing. So is crying. Just keep telling yourself it's just one day. tommorow will be better.

Use your muscle relaxants. Dont forget to tell your dr when you see him. Your fibro is out of control. I get those charlie horses when I try to sleep. ?Then dr wonders why I dont stay asleep?

Shar,

So sorry for all that pain your going thru. I also have the pain in arms and hands with pins and needles all the time! I think the suggestion one gal made about a hot bath and a heating blanket sounds wonderful!

Hope you feel better soon. Unfortunately, I've been weaned off my fentantyl patches and I'm hurting big time. I have to wait for the doc to come in tomorrow because he's going to try something new. It better be good!!!

Please feel better soon,

Spruce

OMG Do they use fentanyl in the state for fibro. It is used mainly for cancer patients here.

Capsaisin cream is good too. It warms it up but really wash your hands afterwards or you will have burning hands.

I use to get charlie horses every night and cramps in my hands and feet. It would wake me up several times a night, then my pain doc precribed me valium. He told me to take 1 or 2 at night with my neurontin. And it truly helped. I can sleep through the night now, most of the time, and I only take one valium. He also told me that I could take it during the day as needed.
