I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

Well, the FM finally got to the point that I'm seriously depressed. Sad I so want to be in denial about being depressed, but I'm never gonna get better if I don't deal with it. I'm dreading it. I went through counseling several years ago, and would love to go to the same counselor I went to before, but it's a pretty long drive to her office from where I live now, and I just don't have the energy to drive that far. I'm getting anxious just thinking about having to get to know a new counselor again, and having to start all over again with my story. Its pretty overwhelming. Plus, my husband is out of town again, and doesn't know I'm starting counseling. I just don't have the energy to have that discussion with him again over the phone. He's not gonna be too happy about the cost...he's self employed, and we carry our own health insurance, and it has a high deductible, so we're gonna have a lot of out of pocket cost for this. He's just gonna have to get over it...I HAVE to deal with this. I've tried getting through it on my own, and I'm only getting worse. I've been here before, and I know when I need help. Please pray for me...that I can connect with this counselor, and that it goes well. I hate leaving my comfort zone and going with a new counselor, but maybe it will be a good thing. This is a Christian counseling group, which is what I was looking for, so I hope I made the right decision. Thanks for listening, everybody!

BTW, I feel like I should defend my hubby a little...he's a wonderfully sweet man, and I know he adores me. I just know he's not gonna be happy about the cost of treatment. He doesnt really understand depression or any other form of mental illness very well...he's never experienced it himself. I think a lot of people are that way. Anyway, just didn't want you all to think my hubby is an ogre...he's not. It 's just something he doesn't particularly understand.

Hey Mel. Good luck today. I hope you find that being able to talk about it helps. If you find the right person it can make the world of difference.

Let us know how you go.
