MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

I started on Lyrica for fibromyalgia. The first dose didn't do anything and then they put the dose up to 150mg and I am already a little bit obese. I am dieting and can feel that my body is thinner, but I have suddenly gained a further kilo in just ten days. I need to lose weight to allow my body to recover from

FM and I thought I was doing well. I now have severe sciatica and can hardly walk. I think I need to go back to the doctors because now I am worse than what I went in there for in the first place.

Hello Linxx ~~~

Welcome to our group ~~~ Even tho' it s been pretty quiet here this past week and will probably be quiet over the weekend, I am sure there will be many others along to welcome you and comment to your post very soon.

You asked re: Lyrica and weight gain ~~~

I have been taking Lyrica for 5 years (same 150 dosage as you). I DID have weight gain (about 15#) the first month of taking it. However, that seemed to be the only problem with weight I have had with Lyrica. I didn t/haven t gained any more or had weight issues since while taking Lyrica.

Please continue to work with your dr. and meds. Sometimes it takes (quite) awhile for your body to adjust to certain meds or a combination thereof.

We re glad you re here and I look forward to getting to know you better soon .

Marilyn
