I'm John and I have Fibro...

I was doing a search on Fibro and Sinus infections and happened on this site. I've had Fibro for quite some time. I'm still in denial. I still think those perfect days are who I really am and I'll find out what's affecting me the other times. I think the fatique is the worse part. Sometimes I just accept it and veg, but we don't always have that luxury.

I'm wondering how many of you have associated sinus/ear problems or certain foods with your symptoms? Simple carbs, Alcohol and caffeine seem to trigger symptoms also. I've worked with a chiropractor, we seemed to educate each other, I rarely get headaches now. The first visit gave me an excrutiating one and I looked at it as we were on to something. Each visit had better results.

I'm about to embark on a path to see if I can remedy my sinus and ear problems and see what that does to my symptoms. My new doctor doesn't know this yet, I see him Monday. I had one general visit/physical and he seems to be an open Doc.

I've tried some meds and found that I'm best when I exercize and try to eat and live well.

I'm feeling my way around the site and I look forward to sharing info.

Aren't Good Days GREAT...

Hi John and welcome...

Sinusitis and I are old friends. I rarely catch colds but I get several sinus infections or flares a year. I was taking mucinex as a preventive but I had to stop because of some eye problems I'm having. It seemed to be doing the trick though, I haven't had a sinus headache yet this fall/winter and I've usually had several...today's weather would normally give me a sinus headache...it's extremely cold & dry & has been most of the week. I don't do well normally with unseasonable weather.

A woman I work with had allergic conjunctivitis that wouldn't go away. She did the allergy testing and found out she was allergic to soy. Now she has to read labels because soy is EVERYWHERE, but after a week her conjunctivitis is gone. Another woman told us she had s sore in her ear for a couple of years, then she tested allergic to wheat & dairy & it went away.

I'm taking a handful of meds everyday and I've got a grip on my fibro, but I have a lot of other health problems that I know are caused by my lazy lifestyle and bad eating habits. When I was first dx'd with fibro I set out on a new lifestyle involving gentle stretching, walks and good food and felt so much better...then I fell off that wagon and my health has been deteriorating (and my eyes and my pancreas) ever since. I plan to return to exercise just as soon as my ophthmologist OKs it and I've been researching a anti-inflammatory diet (or rather, new way of eating) to deal with ALL my medical problems. Once I get a grip on my lifestyle, then I'll see about cutting out my meds.

Good luck to you and stick around, we need more of the male viewpoint and the healthy lifestyle views. I'll be really interested to follow your new path...good luck with your doctor Monday! I hope your new doc is open to holistic methods.

Hi again John, I got the sinus and the ear problems too along with the fatigue and many other conditions. Some of my meds say that they give you chronic sinus problems. Have you asked your chiropractor to do an ear or sinus adjustment? One appointment I had with mine, I told him about my sinus headaches and drainage all the time. He did his magic on them and they are fine. Same with the ears. He did something that felt like he pulled my ears off but they cleared up. Now I only get the tinnitis when I eat chocolate.

Fibro hugs

That sounds interesting, no I didn't. I stopped going to him once my headaches stopped.
