As long as it isok with you, then I don't see anything wrong with it. This way, she also can ask questions. That will help educate her on what is going on and maybe help do away with some fears she may have. Good luck at your appt.

Hugs,

Jenn

It would be an excellent way for her to learn about your disease. Jenn's right...the opportunity for her to ask questions would also help to assure her. The decision, though, is ultimately up to you. How do you feel about it?

i don't mind her coming at all. i just remember i had bad experiences when she came with me and my husband. they said i was crazy for taking them with me and that they were there to be my pity party.

Besides it is always good to have another person there to hear what the doctor says. It's easy to forget something and with both of you there you won't forget anything.
Be wise and dignified like the swan: he maintains his composure, staying unruffled on the surface, while always paddling like crazy underneath.

This is a decision only you can make, splatterdunk.

Would she be going with you and sitting in the waiting room or going with you and going into the examining room with you ?

Like others said, sometimes it is better to have someone else along to ask questions we might not think of or to hear something the dr. says that we might have missed in the conversation.

I used to ask my sister to go with me, hoping she could learn something about all this but she never did...I think she is the one in denial about me being ill..

I find that the contrary doctors treat you better if you have someone with you, witnesses. There is nothing wrong with taking someone with you and if the doctor has anything to say about it tell him to stick it in his ear and find a new doctor. There is no reason why the should have a problem with it. Good luck tomorrow.
