Today wasn't to bad until I got stressed out. I had a pain pill this morning along with my Cymbalta and Lyrica. Then the stress of the day hit and I started to go down hill. I am consuming way to much caffeine and my stomach was hurting but I am so tired and don't have that bubblyness about me anymore that I prided myself on. I have no bubbles people! I am in allot of pain tonight and kind of irritable. I took a pill tonight but of course it's not working because I waited to long. I will make it just fine, but I wish I could just relax and feel good for once. This is so hard living like this everyday. I know tomorrow is a new day and hopefully it will be better. I hope everyone's day was good. I wish you all were here with me to comfort me while I whine. I am trying to get better about it and be more positive but we all have our moments. Thanks for listening. oh I bumped up my appointment to Friday so I only have to wait til then hopefully then I can take my meds as needed instead of just when it is horribly bad like now.

Sometimes it's hard to walk, talk, or even know what tomorrow brings. But as long as I have a smile on my face I can give a little bit of sunshine!

Why can't you take them as needed now? Isn't that what our pain meds are for? I must have missed a post or two. Waiting until your pain is beyond reason to take your meds is like closing the barn door after the cows get out. If you have to wait, just don't wait quite so long. Catch the pain before it catches you.

It is ok to be upset Cori. You don't have to apologize. Yes it is good to have a positive attitude when we can. But not at the expense of making us feel bad when we feel like crap and can't or don't want to hide it. You know what I mean hun. So accept how you feel and don't feel bad. You are in company though. I have been in a bad flare for what seems like forever. So I am here with ya babe, pain, smiles and hugs.

Cori...ask your doctor about some Valium or Xanax. They will help you with your stress levels. And as you know, easing stress will also ease pain.

Hey, whine away. I whine all the time. We deserve it. When there's no one around to listen to my whining I whine to my animals or the wall, which ever is closer. It is hard to live this way every day. I would trade years off my life just to have better quality of life for the time that I had left. I am so angry about the situation with doctors and pain meds. I never realized it was so difficult to get them until I needed them. Where do the people who abuse them get them? Unless they are stealing them they have to be prescribed by a doctor at some point along the line. Where are these doctors? I want to find one. I don't want to abuse the meds I just want some relief.

By the way, whining is as contagious as yawning. You got me started.

Corie,

I am new here but I would have to agree with Sistrozzie. You need to stay ahead of the pain. Don't wait until your pain is out of control before you take your meds. Just my opinion on pain management.

Nice to meet you.

Cori,

I actually got in trouble from my pain clinic for not taking my pain medication enough. I told them how much pain I had been having and they asked me how much I was taking my pain medication and I told them only when I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I think I had a mental block because I am a nurse and I thought I should stick it out as long as I could. Also, it limits my ability to do the things I need to do for my family.

Recently, I have been taking it more often and my pain is better under control. I too take cymbalta and lyrica in the morning, but I also tend to need something for pain around lunch time. Everyone is right, it is better if you stay ahead of the pain. The only problem is with fibro, you would be taking pain medication around the clock so you have to be ready for the side effects of being sleepy, constipation to name a few. That said. please don't be afraid to use your pain meds when needed. That is what they are there for. I struggle with this too at times.
