Thank you! I am beginning to think my initial reaction of not taking them was a good one.

It's hard enough to get help as it is and I wouldn't feel comfortable trying them without someone here in case of a reaction or if my husband needed something and couldn't wake me up. That has always why I haven't tried them in the past.

My PCP handed me an RX for prozac and wouldn't take it back. And I won't even go there.

Maybe this is just the path I'm supposed to walk.

I won't leave. Just don't always have the energy to participate. Sometimes it is all I can do to try to keep up.

I know they use Amtripflyne(Elavil) like stacey said to treat fibro, its a really old anti-D that isn't really used as an anti-D much anymore, its given at a lower dose(not a medical dose for Depression which is higher) to treat nerve pain, but it also causes drowsyness in many people.

I think like stacey says it would be trial and error. I would still talk to you doc to see if he has any suggestions. I have heard of others having some success in treating their pain and that would be a non-drowsy alternative.

Yoga is another one that people say helps them.

My dx: Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's syndrome, Degenerative disc disease, 2 herniated discs, Endometriosis, TMJ, IBS, Costocondritis, bipolar, and possible Anklydosis Spondylitis.

I don't take any preventative meds for my Fibro, I tried them all but I'm very med sensitive and they just didn't help me. I am currently only treating my pain with pain meds and like Sha mine could knock out a horse however like I said everyone reacts differently I have always had the opposite reaction with pain meds. In your delicate situation having to be on your toes it's def something to discuss with the Rheumy I'll bet they have seen others in your situation and others that work in general or have small children that can't be too sedated so they can offer you some suggestions. Wink I wish you all the best, it can't be easy but I understand. I love my husband so much, hes currently my caretaker but if anything happened I would do whatever I could to take care of him no matter what I had to do too. I know you do it because he's your hubby that you love but it is admirable and I have so much respect for you. If you ever just need to sit down and chat, vent, laugh, cry anything I'm always here. Hugs and Prayers, Stacey

Hi all,

I take 30mg Amitriptyline, Fioricet with codeine for migraines and pain, soma, clonazepam, Theophylline, simviatatin, lisinopril, aciphex, MSM, fish oil, malic acid, CoQ10, B complex, Vit D, Multivitamin, low dose aspirin and I'm sure I forgot something.

I have tried and do get massage therapy. But I don't have energy for much more than I do now. I exercise, recumbent bike 31 minutes a day. The weight loss seems to have made everything worse.

Thank you all for reaching out to me.
