i need to know if this is just me and something else or if anyone else has this with their fibro. of course, pain all the time. but there are times i just feel funky is all i can say, kinda lightheaded, feel like i could pass out and heart seems to race it may not last long and then again it may. seems to happen more around that time of the month and in between at times. it gets to where i am afraid to go anywhere. afraid of fainting. which i have done at least 3 times. each time in public, which my husband and children loved i sometimes just feel like i am crazy. please someone help!

No crazier than I am, if that is any comfort. For me the pain isn't the worst part, it's the feeling yucky. Some days I can't do anything but I really don't have a "reason". Those are the days I think I am just lazy but when the fog lifts and I fell like myself again I realize how out of it I really was. Does that make sense?

Hi ya all,

I wish I could relate to your feeling faint! That's the one thing I don't have.

However, I feel yucky all the time. It's so hard to describe. You do feel lazy but in your heart you know if you could just do it you would!!

It's like everything is an effort, work is a better word, I think. Taking a simple shower is a job and I have to talk myself into doing it, then I still don't!!

It's good we're not alone because we can all feel crazy together .

Hey misfitmustangs, welcome to the group!!

we all get some pretty funky feelings I think but if your having lightheadedness and fainting you should see your Dr. it could be many things that have nothing to do with fibro at all

I agree with Snoopy. You really should get this checked out. I often feel faint and feel like my heart is beating very fast (I've checked and sometimes it is other times it's not. Everything starts getting black and I get to feeling weak. Sometimes the back of my neck and the back of my head gets tight. This is usually because my blood pressure is dropping.

And then there is the sudden drop in my blood sugar. With it I get all of that plus intense hunger, and profuse sweating. No, I'm not diabetic.

I would blame it on the fibro, except I have done this since I was very young.

thank you all for your input and support. i have seen and told my md's about these feelings and they blame it on the fibro. every test i have...comes back fine. so half the time i feel crazy! the times i did this was(you'l love this) we went to florida to sea world...well sorta the day before whe went to the beach i was out in the sun...no problem. went to bathroom they had it was like a tin can and a thousand degrees i was with my kids changin their clothes and got over heated and down i went...felt like hell the rest of the day...then next day went to sea world (it was hot) and standing in line...got that funny feeling and down i went...fun family times. and got love my husband he took the girls to sea world alone the next day, in the heat...then the next time was in septemberr went to a small town festival, heart began to race, and down i went....husband is loving this...i can tell when it is gonna happen. this is when i finally went to a neurologist all test fine and here i am with fibro....stress makes things worse...but just feeling this huge sense of weakness and fatigue is killer and really hard for me to deal with. i mean i am a nurse...i cant miss work...and not having someone to talk to who understands has been horrible. but it has been nice to come on this site and get support from all of you..you have no idea what it means...actually you probably do. so big hugs to all of you. my husband has been really hard to deal with..he just doestn understand and gets frustrated...but i found out he has been looking things up and finding things he can do to help...so he is trying...but thanks again to all of you wonderful people...i am here to stay

You certainly have had a big problem with fainting!

When you feel it coming on are you able to call out for someone to catch ya?? I'd be afraid for you if you would get your head knocked to hard.....I know the heat is a killer for me and humidity. I need to have my air cond. on thru the summer for sure. I'd have a hard time living in to hot of weather. However, my sister is sick with FMS too and she moved to AZ. and she seems to have more better days. They also don't have the humidity that some of us have.

Hope your having an ok day!

I have times where I faint too. It seems like I go through seasons. Sometimes I am fine and othertimes not. Hope you know you are not alone or crazy. We are here for you. How about you and I can be the fainting twins.

Glad it isnt happening so far today since its my bday. Who wants to faint then? I did faint at my sisters wedding. That was funny. They were saying the Lords prayer, I could tell i was about to pass out. I went down the steps sat down and passed out. Oh well.At least I wasnt on stage. Haha

Hope you have a great day.

Talk about siblin riverly. It is good to have that 'warning'. i usually get that warning in time to go sit down or sit down in the floor. Sometimes I just bend over until that feeling passes. Mom says I'm inspecting the floor.

Please look up the symptoms to Neurally Mediated Hypotension. I have that condition and it sounds as if that might be what you are describing. It can be a pre cursor to fibromyalgia. It took YEARS to be diagnosed as it's extremely rare. I finally passed out while my cardiologist was holding my hand and noticed the drop in my BP.
Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.
