I recently filed for Social Security, per my doctors. I decided to use Allsup and they think that I should get it right away. Has anyone filed or heard anything about allsup? Sad

I have filed, back in Nov of 2005 and I am still fighting for it... I do not recommend that any one use RSD. It is a battle....

I am finally on Social Security Disability. It took five years. I was turned down three times, and had to have my doctor testify for me at a hearing. The SS people also bring their own judges and people who feel if you can work or not. Get a GREAT attorney...it is well worth it. And do not give up. WE ALL WORKED FOR THAT MONEY, WE EARNED IT. WE NEED IT AND IT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO US IN OUR TIME OF NEED..

I have worked since I was 11 yrs old. and for many yrs earned over 150,000. and the said that I was just lazy..... wanting something for nothing.... He said it I got SS I could work and make 900 a month over and above the amount I would draw. I told him if I could work and make 900 a month I would not be here now......

Now, is that not the absolute truth? IF we had the CHOICE, well that is much better than having the choice taken away from us. OF course we want to work..we love what we do! People can be so ridiculous in the things they say. Plain stupidity.

I totally agree. We didn't choose to have FMS take over our bodies and lives. If we could choose we would choose to do what we love to do with our oves. I think ellie1 is absolutely correct people can be so ridiculous.

After quitting my last job in May of this year...and not being able to go back, I have decided to apply. I've never heard of Allsup or RSD...all I know is it's gonna be another pain in the butt and I really don't wanna deal with it...but at this point I have no choice. There's no way I can work and/or PASS A DRUG TEST TO DO SO...even if I COULD!

I guess I'll just 'roll with the punches'.

Anyone have any suggestions before I apply on Friday?

Thanks in advance!!

BOY OH BOY DO I. IV'E BEEN THROUGH IT AND I HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH IT. IF YOU DO GET TURNED DOWN (AND YOU WILL) GET YOU AN ATTORNEY THAT "SPECIALISES" IN IT. NOW, MY ADVICE:

1. STICK TO THE SUBJECT OF WHY YOU CAN'T WORK (CAUSE THEY ALWAYS TURN YOU DOWN THE FIRST TIME) BE FORWARD, BLUNT, AND TELL THEM WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. THEY WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN, SO STICK TO THE SUBJECT OF FIBROMYALGIA. FIND THE TRUE DEFINITION OF IT AND STICK TO IT.

2. FIBROMYALGIA - THAT IS ONE WORD THEY CAN NOT DENY. IN THE SYSTEM, IT'S THE SAME AS SAYING YOUR BLIND

3. DON'T GET INTO DETAILS, STICK WITH THE SUBJECT AND BE FIGITTY ? WRESLESS IN YOUR CHAIR (LIKE WE DO).

4. IT TAKES 2 YRS. BUT YOU WILL GET IT. IT GOES BACK TO THE DAY WHEN YOU FIRST FILED, SO YOU MAY GET A CHECH FOR 3,000 BUCKS! IT MAY HELP TO GET THE ADVICE OF A SECOND DOCTOR, BUT SUZEE, YOU WILL GET IT . JUST HANG IN THERE! THE GOVERNMENT HAS FINALLY REALIZED THAT FIBROMYALGIA IS A SERIOUS CONDITION. SOME CALL IT A DESIESE, AND I WOULD USE THE LATTER TERM CAUSE WE DON'T GET BETTER WE ONLY GET WORSE.

5. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THEY WILL TRY TO GET YOU TO APPLY FOR SSI.. I WOULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO KNOW ALL KINDS OF PERSONAL STUFF ABOUT YOU AND WILL EVEN WATCH YOUR HOUSE TO SEE IF YOU CAN CARRY IN GROCERIES BY YOURSELF. YEAH FOR REAL. (SSI) IS MORE LIKE WELFARE. PLUS YOU HAVE TO "REPORT" TO THEM ON YOUR CONDITION MORE OFTEN. IF YOU OPT TO DENY SSI, YOUR CHECK WILL BE CUT IN HALF, BUT YOU'LL HAVE BIG BROTHER OFF YOUR BACK. BUT NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE CAN TOUCH YOUR CHECK. MY ADVICE, DON'T APPLY FOR THE SSI AND IF THEY SAY YOU NEED IT, TELL THEM YOU JUST WANT WHAT YOU PUT IN DURING THE YEARS THAT YOU WERE WORKING.

GOOD LUCK GAL, PILLPOPPER

Allsup has been wonderful so far. They are nationwide and have a 97% rate of winning their cases. They only handle disability cases and they will do pratically all of the work for you. I definately recommend looking into them. The website is www.allsup.com
