Hi,

It seems like cold affects us all! I am freezing and I use my heating pad also and if its too cold I can't get outta bed! Sinuses and sore throat I think its just that time of year however your headaches could be related to sinus but alot of us with fibro have headaches unfortunately! I have a compromised immune system so I catch anything that comes my way! I hope you can feel better soonSmile

medications are
gabapentin
clonazepam
flexaril
norvasc
estradiol
medroxypr I am not a doctor, this is not medical advice from a physician, just my opinion or observation.

Hi Molly,

It s good to see you here again ~~~ Smile

Yes, I agree that the cold seems to affect all of us Fibromites. Last week we have 65* (warm for November here) and the following day it couldn t get above 35*. My body told me of the overnight change before I even saw the temperature. Ouch !!!

I don t know about sinus and colds going along with Fibro but I surely have been having teeth issues and the cold hurts those also . Sad

Feel better soon ~~~ Marilyn

I live 35 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and to tell the truth I think to much of anything is not good for us as far as weather goes. We do get sub-freezing temps occasionally during the winter and occasionally sub-0 on the F scale. I know I am miserable then but also during the summers we will run +100 degree F for weeks at the time and even though I may be sitting right next to the ac vents and I can actually feel the cool air I hurt terribly. I know I function better in the fall winter and spring months even though the winter can be painful than late spring, summer and early fall.

There is one weather event that I absolutely know exactingly what to expect. Although I do keep up with the NOAA (National Weather Service) site through most of hurricane season I truly don't need it. If there is a storm in the gulf I know it and the closer it gets the more crippled I become. Afterward it passes though are about 2 absolutely blissful days when I not only am not suffering but feel wonderful. It has to be a combination of things though that I don't understand because trying to track different weather patterns yields me absolutely useful data about what makes me feel worse or better. Maybe some of it is mental as well as weather related. Even after Katrina though when my mother had just died (not in the storm, two weeks before) and the last thing I knew my sister was being taken into emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm and I had no idea if she and others of my family on the coast had even survived the storm for weeks I still felt the physical relief that usually happens when it was over. I have learned to just accept those few days as a special gift from God.

I believe that sinus issues come with Fibro!!! I had sinus surgery 2 years ago due to chronic sinus infections and although it helped quite a bit I still have sinus infections! I am having my tonsils removed in 3 weeks due to chronic strep throat! I have NEVER been this sick until I got fibro (and more than likely Lupus)! It's just crazy! I certainly feel your pain!

I totally agree with the weather changes & the changes in our bodies & the severity of our pain. I woke up one morning this past week & said, 'welp, it's cold outside, isn't it?', & sure enough, it was. I hate watching the weather because I'd rather not know it's coming. I THINK! LOL. I've been sick with an upper respiratory infection & have felt just horrible!! Going on 2 weeks or so now. I had a little break, & then yesterday morning, I think, woke up & was even sicker than I was before. Starting to improve a little, but the coughing is taking it's tole on my body.

It's good to see you back, but I'm so sorry you're in a flair again. Sad Hope it starts improving very soon.

My views & suggestions are from my own experience or from research that I have conducted on my own. They ARE NOT to be used as a replacement for a professional opinion, so please take them as just that.

I'm just getting over my second cold this season and this time threw my back out from coughing. Yeeeouchie! I hope everyone is drinking tea or whatever comfort liquids you prefer!!!! Take good care of yourselves!!! I read somewhere that FMS is connected with the old "rheumatism" diagnosis???? I remember in movies back in the day when they'd say they could feel the weather was going to change in their bones. Their "rheumatiz" let them know! Do you suppose that myth has something to it?
Take very good care of you!!! You deserve it!!!
Katie
