I'm an Advocate

I have been on Lyrica 150mg daily since May of '06 and it works well for me. Like Natty, at first, I had about a 15# weight gain early on but it soon tapered off and I have no problems with it.

Just this past May, my PCP wanted me to try Cymbalta (low dose) 30mg daily and I find it has helped also.

I wish you the best in starting any new med and as Stacey mentioned, everyone reacts differently to different meds.

Ditto everything Stacey said, because we are so different you just havce to study them and then decide for yourself if you want to try them.

Its a hard thing to do.

I dispense advice freely but you should take it with a grain of salt and do your homework and check with your doctor.
He gets paid more so he must know more. Right?

I am truly sorry your are reading my post, because it means you are here at MD Junction instead of out skydiving or deep sea treasure hunting or climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.......

Hello and welcome to MDjunction. I've not been a member for long but already I've found a great sense of friendship and support from the other members. I'm on amitriptyline too, at the moment that's the only drug I'm on for treating the fibro. Seeing the doctor tomorrow as I've had just about all the pain I can cope with at the moment. I'm on 50mg at night. It helps and is better than nothing but oh for something else... Wishing you well. x
