The continuation of our ever popular WHAT DO YOU MISS DOING? thread

Pill Popper, I am in the EXACT same boat you are. Without the pain meds, I cannot get out of bed. I HATE this... it breaks me up to know that once I was a vibrant, active teacher, leader, trainer.... my heart goes out to you and I send you one HUGE hug ( that's really soft and gentle). WE ARE NOT GOING TO END UP IN WHEELCHAIRS... THAT HAS BEEN MY BIGGEST FEAR, TOO. I will just keep taking the pain meds until something GOOD for Fibro ( not just another stupid antidepressant) comes along. We have to BELIEVE that we WILL have our lives back... we have to.

What i miss from where i stand...

I miss not being alone due to her need for so much sleep.

I miss holding her without hearing " I love you but i hurt to much"

I miss being able to just get up and go where ever when ever.

I miss making love (sorry if that idea creeps anyone out).

I miss play fighting and long walks through parks.

I miss doing even simple things like brushing her hair or rubbing her arm at night because her skin hurts to be touched.

and don't even get me started about when the depression part kicks in for her! There is a side of her that i never got to know and never will now and that breaks my heart so much. I could go on but that would take all day.

I miss being able to put a party together and just hang out with friends. I miss being able to be intament with my husband without pain. I miss being involved in everything my children do. I will be in the middle of doing something with my children and I will fall asleep. The worse thing is that my children will try to give me a hug and they will be like I have to be care so I won't hurt you mommy. And that makes me cry. They should be able to climb on me and hug and kiss me without fear of hurting me.

HELLO THERE MOONER1975; HOPE THATS OK TO SHORTEN IT. I HATE TO TYPE MORE THAN I HAVE TO CAUSE MY HANDS HURT TOO. I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL, CUZ I'VE BEEN THERE, AND I HAD NO ONE TO HELP ME...ALL OF MY FAMILY ARE DEAD. YA KNOW, IF YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY-BY ALL MEANS ASK FOR ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GET. IT'S STRANGE HOW PEOPLE REACT TO FM. THEY CAN'T SEE THE PAIN AS IF WE HAD A CAST ON OR SOMETHING. GIVE IT A SHOT. YOU KNOW WHEN WE WENT TO HAWAII I COULDN'T KEEP UP, SO WE RENTED A WEELCHAIR. WHAT A SHOCK TO ME!! SUDENLY PEOPLE WERE ACTUALY "GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY" TO BE SO UDERSTANDING. THEY CAN'T SEE OUR PAIN, ANDS IT'S NOT FAIR!!! I SAW A COMERCIAL ABOUT FM AND I CRIED!!! IN 1988 THEY HAD NO IDEA. NOW WERE OUT THERE!!! SO, YOU HANG IN THERE CAUSE WE ONLY GET THIS MOMENT. PILLPOPPER
