Okay, this might sound like a stupid thing for me to say but I have to throw this out there and see what other people have experienced. I know that some tingling in the extremities from time to time is a regular symptom of fibro, is it not? However, I rarely had this symptom before starting on Lyrica so I'm starting to wonder if the Lyrica is not causing this as a side effect. For the last week or two my left leg has been hurting quite a bit up in the back of my thigh and lower butt cheek but no tingling. Now, for about the last two days, my left foot keeps going numb and I'm getting tingling in my left leg and sometimes on the right as well. My hands are having some numbness and tingling too. I don't understand what the deal is but I'm hoping someone out there may be able to help me shed some light on this and let me know other experineces?Ermm

P.S. My back hasn't been hurting at all so it doesn't seem to be coming from there.

Thanks,

Julie

Julie,

I am sorry that I cannot be of any help to you, but I am sure someone will come along that takes Lyrica and has for a long time and they may have more insight for you.

I did take Lyrica for a short period of time, but my legs swelled up huge and hurt like crazy, so I was taken off of it pretty quickly. I hope you get to the bottom of this. It sounds like you are quite uncomfortable and have no understanding of why this is happening.

I wish you the best of luck! Please keep us posted about what you find out.

Hugs~

Christine

I get a lot of tingling in extremities and had once incident where tingling in my leg ended up with my whole side going numb for a few days and having odd sensation afterwards for a few days more. It's worth checking it with your GP or whichever medic you most trust: simple things to consider might be any disc issues, neck issues, trapped nerve etc. Pain can be referred so it might be you've clicked something in your back or neck that doesn't seem to hurt, but the pain's actually just getting moved down to your leg.

It's so easy with all the multiple symptoms we get to say it's just another aspect of fibro when it might be something easier to do something about! I also get tingling and numbness as part of my blood pressure going too low, and that's easily checked on too.

Hope you're feeling better soon

Thank you for your input ladiesSmile. I am supposed to be getting a referral from my PA to a neurologist to rule out MA. That appointment hasn't been made yet but I'm a patient woman (most of the time anyway haha). Yesterday I was supposed to see a GI doctor because some old symptoms have resurfaced but I cancelled the appointment and rescheduled it about a month down the road because I'm doing okay with those issues right now. Right now the help I'm getting from the meds is still outweighing the unpleasant side effects so hopefully that will continue to be the case and I will tackle one issue at a time concerning anything else that may be going on.

Have a great day and hugs to all.

Numbness and tingling is another symptom some experience with Fibro but it also can be med related especially if you only really noticed it after the Lyrica. I had a bad experience with it myself with stoke like symptoms and there was some tingling. You should def talk to your dr soon to rule it out. Best of luck!

How long have you been on Lyrica? I did OK at first, except for feeling like I was starving all the time and high. The high feeling went away, the hunger did not. After about 6 weeks, I found that my hands and feet were swelling and hurt horribly. My doc had me stop Lyrica and the swelling and pain went away.

We have strange reactions so it might be that, but then again it could be something else so I too encourage you to see or talk to the doctor.

Rayn I have been on the Lyrica for about a month now and it has reduced my overall fibro pain but some side effects are getting worse rather than better such as the swelling that you mentioned. I had a huge appetite for the first couple of weeks too but that seems to have tapered off along with some visual disturbances. I should be meeting with my PA next week so I will bring up my concerns then.

I also have a tendency to do more than I should physically so I am sure that doesn't helpSad.

Hugs to all,

Julie
