I have fibromyalgia, obviously. In the past few months, I have had increasing difficulty with my balance and feeling as if I am about to pass out-vision goes black at edges, etc. as well as numbness and tingling in all of my limbs. My chiropractor thinks it is adrenal exhaustion, but my family medical doctor, does not agree. Now, I have been diagnosed with shingles on my back and have had a fever off and on as well as difficulty breathing. I guess at this point I am just looking for something, anything that might help. If anyone has any advice, feel free to enlighten me.

diver311 sounds like you have a lot to deal with so sorry to hear this. From my experience shingles can cause the fever and the tingling in the limbs, this may explain some of the symptoms. The vision thing and breathing difficulty I have no idea and will pray the real docs figure it out soon. Try to get lots of rest and be gentle with yourself. Sending healing energies your way.

Well you sure have a lot on your plate, and i am sorry for you.

I wouldn't rule your chiropractor out, He could well be on to something.

If you are not safe be extra careful doing showers etc.

I hope you can get a more definitive answer, but that is sometimes hard to do with this condition.

Meanwhile be careful with yourself, and dont take risks.....

Welcome to the family, it's nice to meet you. I'm so very sorry that you are suffering so much but I'm glad you joined us. This is a wonderful place for support from caring people. As for your new symptoms, I would call the doctor as soon as possible and report them, you should never just assume it's fibro. If the trouble breathing keeps up, you may want to think about the ER. Again, I'm very sorry you are suffering. Please know that we are all here for you and will do what we can to help. Feel free to PM me or any member for that matter if you want to speak privately.

Hi there diver! Ask your doctor about postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome - it causes the dizziness related symptoms (including the tingling), and is pretty common in us fibromites. Has your doctor done an EKG to rule out other heart-relate problems?

I'm sorry about the shingles - that is no fun! Is it getting any better? Have your doctors considered an autoimmune related cause instead of a shingles diagnosis.

Keep in mind I'm not a doctor - just brainstorming Smile

Good luck - and welcome to the family! We're glad to have you here!

Welcome!

Fibro can cause all of those symptoms except fevers but that's where the shingles comes in. Your dr will be the best to continue seeking medical advice with. If you don't feel they are doing their best maybe go for another opinion. Have you had your adrenal functions checked? It's a lengthly process of bloodwork and injections. I wish you the best. You came to the best place for support! Keep us updated on your progress. I hope you feel better with the shingles I know they s*ck! Praying for quick healing. Hugs Wink

I have been using cortizone cream frequently and thankfully, most of them are healing before blistering. Fever is still come and go. I had to miss two half days of work bc of it. I am still in probationary period for this job, so there isn't much leeway with absences. Anyway, now I am at risk of losing my job, which also sucks. The dizziness and faintness happens any time I squat or bend down for a minute and stand up. Do you guys think the adrenal exhaustion is plausible and if so, my doctor wanted the name of a specific test or tests to confirm. Any ideas? Thanks for all the responses, so far!

I dont know about any names of tests - you could maybe ask at the adrenal insuffiency group.

I'm glad they're healing before blistering!

But I'm sorry about your job - I don't have any good advice about it as I an currently a student. But, I'm sure you will get some helpful responses about it soon Smile

Good luck!

Love,

Annamarie
