FMS ForumsGeneral & SupportWhy am I getting unrelenting fatigue now?

I have had fibro for quite sometime -- about 8 years by now -- and suddenly my fatigue is unrelenting.

I did have an adrenal insufficiency back a few months ago, but my cortisol level is now perfect, so I know the fatigue is not from that.

My sugar level is a bit high though, I must admit and I am switching to Truvia instead of sugar and avoiding fructose and all fake sugars as well.

I am going back to taking NADH 10mg per day and I hope this brings me some badly needed energy.

My rheumatologist has never told me I have chronic fatigue.....but he totally agrees with the fibro diagnosis and I have all 18 tender points so I get achy a lot.

Anyone else with such fatigue not diagnosed with chronic fatigue??

I am a newbie in this group.

Welcome to our family, it's nice to meet you. I think you will really like it here as everyone is caring and understanding. You will receive lots of support from us and you don't have to feel like you're going through anything alone.

I suffer from awful fatigue and I don't have CFS however my fatigue was one of my first symptoms. Other than sleeping alot and sometimes I'm talking a whole lot, I haven't found anything to relieve the fatigue. Not even after adding vitamins and finding out I was magnesium and Vitamin D deficient, it has not made a difference. I wish I could give you a magic answer to help but I just can't so I'm sorry I'm not much help there. Perhaps others will sign on that have found things to help combat the fatigue. I hope you will stick around with us....I look forward to getting to know you better Smile

I've had fibro for about 5 years now (dx'd actually, had it much longer) and the fatigue has really been kicking my hiney lately. I don't know what to tell you. I've had people tell me not to nap during the day, but I have to. I sleep about 8-10 hours a night (some nights I don't sleep at all) and still nap everyday for 2-4 hours. If I don't nap.....I can't function. Sorry I'm not much help on this. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

I just wrote another thread about fatigue and then I saw yours...sorry. I also have the terrible fatigue and am getting to the point I cannot do anything or if I start something I cannot finish it. I practically get to where I cannot move and will fall alseep. I do have the dx of cfs but even with that there does not seem to be any end in sight. I sure hope they can find something soon, I am really getting upset over this.

Hi there! First of all, welcom to our family Smile second - I do have CFS, but I was diagnosed with it months after I wa dxd with fms. It doesn't matter what your doctors call it though - you're feeling what you're feeling - and I'm so sorry if happens to be fatigue. In my opinion, that's the hardest one to push through because its so hard to be motivated hen you're so tired. I may or mat not actually manage to feed myself on any given day - which does not make my mother happy! Lol.

I just want you to know you're not alone, and I really hope you get some relief soon!

Love,

Your fibrosister - Annamarie

Hello and welcome to our "fibro family". My name is Christine and it is so nice to meet you. You have come to the best place ever for great support and caring, but most of all understanding.

I have fms, systemic lupus, insulin dependent diabetic, and lots of others I won't bore you with, and I mentioned diabetes, because if your sugar is too high or too low you can become very, very, fatigued and sleepy. I can usually tell where my fatigue originates from even before taking my blood sugar. Do you take any med for your diabetes? What kind of numbers do you run? Diabetes can be a very serious disease if not taken care of properly. One of my good friends, just had a kidney transplant and she had been on dialysis for quite some time and she said it was horrible. Of course she feels much better now since the transplant I'm not sure what is causing your fatigue, but I do hope that you are feeling better real soon. I will keep you in my prayers.

Newbie Hugs~

Christine

Fatigue is a symptom that effects each person differently some more severe than others some not at all so maybe since it's been nothing for 8 yrs it's more noticeable of a differance. You should speak to your dr. Good luck! Wink

I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.

I'm not currently active due to many personal and medical issues. I will not be participating in MDJ for awhile, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. I hope everyone is well and I appreciate all of the thoughts, kind words and messages. I have tried to respond as much as possible and apologize if I have not gotten back to everyone. Thanks to all of you for your support. I have just begun to eliminate sugar from my tea and coffee and am using Truvia which is a Stevia with little aftertaste. Instead of having soda, I am drinking more water and when I want a bit of sweetness, I add just a bit of juice so the amount of sugar is minimal.

They say when you are on Truvia, your sugar cravings go away, but not yet! I had too much ice cream all summer and that did NOT help...low fat, but with real sugar!

Also watching my fat and carbs. Won't be easy, but I think it'll help get my energy back. Also ordered NADH which is a natural supplement which I have used before and it did help wake me up in the morning and I was able to concentrate better! A doctor recommended it for me months back.

I'll let you know how my plan goes....and if I can stick with it!

Hugs to all

Welcome to the fibro support group! I hope you love it here as much as I do.

I'm so sorry you are having so much fatigue and sincerely hope your plan for reducing it is effective very soon!

Fatigue is a huge factor in my fibro. I sleep 8 to 10 hours each night and then try to "catch up" on sleep over the weekend as well often sleeping all day Saturday and Sunday with only a bit of time to do some laundry and other absolute necessities.

Please keep us updated as to how you are doing!

Hugs,

Red
