Today was another bleary rainy yucky day in Ky. I always get depressed when winter starts and it seems this year is going to be worse. I have figured out I have nothing to look forward to. There is no dream for the future. I feel if I'm just existing from day to day with no hope or laughter. Since I don't work anymore I have nothing to talk about with anyone and I feel I am becoming more and more withdrawn. This is the only place where I come to talk to anyone. I'm getting into a real funk and I don't know what to do to get out of it. If I don't do anything I feel lethargic and lazy. If I do something then I spend the next 2-3 days either in pain or exhausted or both.Anybody relate or have any suggestions on what to do before I crack up entirely?

Sherry

oh yes I can relate. Even though I am able to be out working Most of that time is spent being the brunt of everyone elses anger and frustration. I have no friends anymore because I don't have the time or strength to keep up friendships. So what to look forward to. I'm not to good at looking forward to things or having alot of dreams because I learned at a very early age you just can't count on tommarrow. So I tend to be a live one day at a time kind of person. That doesn't work for everyone though. So start small. Look forward to your daughter always a good source of pick me up (even when as all kids do they push the limits)Look forward to a day with sunshine instead of rain. Look forward the the winter dolldrums going away and being replaced by the beauty of spring. I think this time of year is hard in general I personally have a very hard time with Holidays and such. I know this wasn't much but I hope it helps just to know I'm thinking of you.

oh chick, boy does everyone here know what you are going through! snoop is right about starting small. I go through this often, especially when i am thinking, of how my life has changed sooo dramatically. and i think well, what is next? i don't SEE anything coming up, but there is something coming next, believe that. and people need you, we need you.

you have encouraged, and supported, and made people FEEL better! you are an intricate part of our family here. you are IMPORTANT! to not only the people around you, but to us too.

and crack kills! so no cracking up. yeah?

a soft hug, and a peck on the cheek.

ky chick, I was going thru the same thing before I left Cincinnati a few weeks ago. When they cover my pool for the winter I became horrible because I know that only the colder dreary winter is ahead. There is a post on that, I started the post but Ted hutchinson explained alot of it. My dr said the cause is Seasonal Affective Disorder find that post and see what he had to say about it. I know dr's like to throw out all kinds of names for things but their could be some merit to it. To answer you question yes I feel it almost everyday. It gets so bad that I don't even care if we have any sort of holiday celebration. I feel so bad that I don't even feel like getting out of bed. Talk to hubby in Cincinnati last night he said things were going to get better today so get outside and get some sun on your face and see if you feel a tad bit better.

I have felt I have suffered from S.A.D. long before fibro took over my life,so i know that is a big part of it. And snoopy I'm a one day at a time kinda chick too. I always have been. I have never had many friends and now I have none. I have always been content to be alone and for the most part enjoy my on company. It's a good thing since this fibro crap came along. And like you,it's a constant to keep the few people in my life from being mad at me for something. And that was a good one pondering on the crack.....Today is a better day so I'm good for another day. I hope that I do help others here as they help me. If I am,then at least I feel somewhat useful. You guys sure have helped me out a bunch this week,

Thanks,

Sherry

You have many friends they are just on line instead of in person!! I feel like thats better in a way because we don't have to get all dressed up for each and we don't have to go anywhere to be with them, all we have to do is turn on our computers.

some of the other cool things about on line friends:

1. You don't have to be dressed to talk to them (unless you have web cam)

2. no need for hair and makeup ect.( unless you have webcam)

3. If you have web cam you don't have to use it.

4. You can make faces at your cyber friends and no one is the wiser.

Hey this might be a good thread for a laugh or two. Now on the serious side I'm glad we were able to help you through a rough time. Tha't why we are here. and yes you do help others by reaching out and sharing with us

Kychick, It sounds like you and I have been living the same life. I feel like I'm cracking up all the time! I also have no friends and no job. Several years ago I got to the point where I could no longer work. Theres housework to be done, but like you said, its a struggle to do anything. Even doing nothing feels like a struggle. I feel your pain!! You hang in there and I will too. All of us will continue to "exhist" until something comes along. I hope tomorrow is better for you.
