MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

Ok,here i go.about a year or so ago i hurt my back at work and went out on workers comp.my MD decided to get an xray.after that came out negative and still being in alot of pain,he sent me for an MRI,which also came out negative.he put me on strong pain med and muscle relaxers.i made it my choice to stop taking anything about amonth or so ago because now the dr told me it was in my head.i left out that my knees, upper and lower back,feet,etc...for the last year or so have been in sooooooooo much pain.so the other day i went back to my chiro and he couldnt believe they couldnt find anything because he found herniated disc in my neck and back 4yrs ago.he was the only one who listened to me and now he thinks i might have fibromyalgia because of some of my tender points i guess.im depressed and have alot of anxiety due to the fact of the dr thinking i was faking and all i wanted was drugs which was never the case.im just so confused.BTW im a 26yr old male,lol...if anyone could give me some advice lemme know.Thank You!!!

It sounds like you need a 2nd opinion and then a lawyer. I would ask the chiropractor to recommend someone I am sure he knows some of the mds around. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

First of all WELCOME TO THE GROUP.

I can understand what you are going through. I too had an accident about 7 years ago and they found I had degenerated disc disease and 3 hernialted/ buldging discs (neck and upper back, 1 lower back)they said I needed surgery but the workers comp would not ok it... I tried everything. Therapy, acupuncture, everything you can think of all on my own.

I started feeling the fibro coming on strong 2 years after that and was not diagnosed until 2008....I did not know at the time but I was hurting everywhere and felt like I was going crazy. Most of the time I did not tell anyone becuase I felt they did not believe me.

Last year I could not take the back and neck pain anymore so decided to start the process over again. Nothing showed up in the xrays or the MRI. So believe me I totally understand what you are feeling.

There is no doubt I have bad discs but why they are not showing up ???? I don't know . 7 years ago I had a dicogram done and that's how they found the degenerated disc. The disc was down 50% it's size..(don't know what it is nowBlink ) yikes...But none of them showed up in the x ray's or the MRI's. I am not sure I want to do the surgery that's why I am not pushing the matter. The Doctor knows about my back so if I pushed it he would continue with more tests until the problems show. It's strange that the herniated and ruptured discs are not showing from Xray's or MRI.

For me I decided not to persue it just learn to live with it for now. The only advice I have for you would be to find out if you have fibro for sure. and for your back, have you done the therapy and all that stuff they put you through yet?

I would for sure take the pain meds they gave you so you can function.

If you do have fibro it does take a while to find what work's for you (as far as meds) there is a lot connected to the fibro so I think if you get on all the right med's for you for all your conditions, the back will be relieved. Hope this all makes sence??

Work with your doctors and if something is not working for you let them know. Are you seeing a Rummy Dr..? I would for sure take the meds.

Hope you feel better soon. There is a lot of old post on here if you go back and I think you will find a lot of usefull info.

thank you both.im going to try my lawyer this week coming up.i havent found a rummy yet.my chiro sent me for a full spinal xray to rule out anything serious.he said he cant understand how ,or anyone else in this situation, have this test done one time and have some serious problems, and then down the line theyre fine????then they wana make you believe that your crazy.so you dont want to speak about whatelse is bothering you because you seem like it pointless and your left with the pain.im just happy i found this site and happy about my chiro.he promised me that we will get there, the way i used to be.sorry for going on and on,lol...my wife and family don't understand so its hard to speak to them.thank you guys again!!!!!

and i threw out my meds in front of the dr because that why, from what i thought he was thinking,he thought i was coming to him.i told him that im not faking, forget the med and have me take a drug test.i just get upset because im in so much pain so im trying to deal with it now.i havent taken shit and he still probably thinks that almost 2months of not taken anything.how can these doctors be that way thinking it something that has nothing to do with the other.some ppl ruin it for others

hello so confused,

welcome to our group,i am pretty sure you will find all the support you need on here.

the part with the doc and the meds i went trough the same problem because i had the nerve to go to the er three times because i was in so much pain.i did not know what was going on with me but i had never experienced so much pain in my life.but like you said the doc was thinking i was just there to get some drugs.after i totally freaked out on him(i have bipolar1 also)and told him that i was not there to get any drugs he finally set down and listend.i totally lost it that day....who are you to judge me like that.not everybody that comes to the er is on drugs.i also injured my back in jan.this year had an x-ray done which did not show anything.had an mri done where i got told i was ok,but when i went to see a rheumo doc she was like who told you there was nothing wrong with your back?she told me what was wrong but i already forgot.sence then my fibro got really bad, have not been back to work sence feb.

got denied in workmenscomp and dissability and got a lawyer for both to appeal the decision.

just hang in there and try to find a doc that believes in fibro...not all doc's do unfortunally.Sad

i am not a medical profassional all post's of mine are my opinion or personal experience only.
