MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

I had to call the VA to find out why I hadn't heard about the results. The blood draw was on August 13th. The bruise has finally faded.

Since the results are negative chances are I do NOT have Ankylosing Sponylosis, psoriatic arthritis or any of the other spondys...TG! I do still have several swollen finger joints a lot of pain in my fingers and my feet are still kind of dusky purple, although they are not swollen. My SED and WBC are ALWAYS elevated so I'm guessing the next test will be for rheumatoid factor. I was told on the AS forum that we Indians have a higher than normal Reactive Arthritis rate. I know I've had more than one bout with E Coli so I wouldn't be surprised to learn I have Reactive Arthritis.

I've always attributed my high SED rate and WBC to losing my spleen but apparently those rates go down within months of losing your spleen. Mine has continued to climb and my former airhead PCP kept ordering ultrasounds of my non-existent spleen & lymphoma and leukemia tests. She never tested me for RF even after my osteo diagnosis. I could make a blonde joke here but I won't...

I hope my new PCP's next move is to refer me to the rheumatology dept. I'd like some answers!

Wow Bobbie, well, some answers, and those were positive, and Rheumatology is where you should go next, and AND I think if you could get some answers no matter what they are you will feel better. Also if they could relieve some of the hand pain your life would be more fun and interesting.

Rheumy

Praying for a fast visit to the rheummy hon

Bobbi - I have my fingers crossed that everything comes back normal, and you start feeling better soon.

I too have swollen fingers and such, so I'm currently getting tested for PA. Although, instead of testing me, they just put me on medication for it. I don't know if it's because they think I have it, or just didn't want to do the tests...

Anyways, this is about you! Good luck my dear! I will be thinking of you!

Wow Bobbi! I'm truly happy to hear you tested negative for ankylosing spondylosis. My uncle had that from his very early 20s and had a very rough time with it.

Can't say that I blame you one bit for wanting some answers. I hope you get to see a rheumatologist very soon to find out what's going on.

Good luck and keep us updated. Pretty please.

Sending you loads of hugs!
